The doubles here are so good. I actually ate it so fast and I forgot to take a picture or a video lol! They do have other things to buy like I love the scotch bonnet pepper sauce and the Bigfoot. It reminds me of Jamaica.
I’ll be back there and I’ll add more content.

Peace! It’s Antar!

The customer service at this restaurant was incredible!

They family who owns the restaurant was poised and patient in explaining all the different cuisine options, this was my first time ordering Trini food at an authentic Trini restaurant.

I met a super considerate brother named Michael, he was a great brother… he’s a friend of the owners!

Wha’Gwan Mikey mi Bwoy, big up unna’self and keep shining yuh light mi Genna Genna!!!

The Shrimp doubles were delicious and I also loved their chicken soup (it remind me of a tasty clam chowder soup)!

Overall…this restaurant is worth a visit… it’s a neighborhood gem and I mean it when I say I will be back this upcoming Summer or Fall of ‘26!

peace&blessings,

The doubles were amazing, freshly made to order with soft, fluffy bara and perfectly seasoned channa. The tamarind, pepper, and cucumber sauces were on point and balanced just right. You can tell everything is made with care and real Trini flavor. The owner is super friendly and welcoming, happy to chat and make recommendations, which really adds to the experience. This spot feels like a little piece of Trinidad. Definitely a must-visit if you love authentic doubles.

I come here often for food. Always fresh and tasty. Recently came for the chicken curry and Roti (buss up) and it was the best I had in a while. Will be coming again. Doubles is authentic as well. Customer service is also top notch. I highly recommend to try them out!

A Decent Doubles Spot!

Salim’s is a small, cozy spot that offers a glimpse into Caribbean flavors. I visited last weekend to try their doubles and found the overall experience to be a solid 4 out of 5 stars.

The atmosphere is laid-back, with a few basic Caribbean snacks and drinks available, and some seating for those waiting for their orders. I was particularly impressed by how clean the kitchen area appeared – a definite plus!

Now, onto the star of the show: the doubles. I’d rate them a 3.5 out of 5 for taste. They were good, but didn’t quite hit that spot. I’ll try a different combination next time.

My visit wasn’t entirely seamless, though. After placing my order, there was a bit of a mix-up, and someone else had to retake it and prepare it. This wasn’t a huge deal, but it did add a slight delay. Also, there were no napkins provided with the food, which can be a bit messy when eating doubles – thankfully, I had wipes in my car. Finally, I was a little surprised to see a card processing fee on my receipt without any prior notification. While these fees are becoming more common, it’s always helpful to be informed beforehand.

Despite these small issues, I’m already planning my next visit for next week. I’m intrigued by the masala apple on the menu and can’t wait to try their roti!

Edit:

I recently revisited this spot, intending to try the duck roti, but ended up going for the goat instead – and I’m so glad I did!

Their roti is 100% on point. The dhalpuri, in particular, is a standout; the split peas are perfectly seasoned, and you can even see the bhandania, a clear sign of authenticity.
The roti itself is impressive, appriximately 16-18 inches. Even with its generous size, it was not enough to scoop up the generous portions of delicious curried goat, channa and aloo, pumpkin, and masala apple. The flavors are so good, I literally had to pause my meal (getting my phone a little messy in the process!) just to call a friend and rave about how authentic and tasty everything was. This is definitely an authentic Trini taste experience. Next time I’ll have to order an extra roti on the side

I’m already planning my next visit to try their Chinese style offerings and will be sure to update my review then!

First impression, a delivery order as someone from Trinidad. Doubles was good. A+ I’d go back but just for that. Ordered a boneless chicken Dhal Puri. Got bone in curry in a container with Dhal Puri on the side. It was bad enough I paid extra for boneless when I got bone in but never in my life has Dhal Puri come unassembled and not wrapped! Chinese chicken was ok but nothing to write home about. Fries were good, coated in possibly old bay seasoning? The doubles is the only thing that saved this order.

Had their doubles and beef pie- both were amazing. Esp the beef pie! Well seasoned ground beef and fried to perfection! And if the food didn’t remind me of home, the atmosphere certainly did! The owner was friendly and kind, soca music played in the background and on the wall there was a picture of an old school parlor (all Caribbean people will know what I’m speaking about) that took me straight back to my childhood. I will definitely recommend and I certainly will be back! Simple the best doubles in Jersey.

I stumbled across Salim’s hot and tasty while looking for doubles on Uber Eats, and boy am I glad I did! I ordered doubles, chicken roti and pholourie and some snacks. As soon as my order arrived I was blown away by the portion sizes. Everything was well packaged. The doubles were hands down the best I had. The curry chicken and roti was fresh and tasty. This is now my go to for Trinidadian food without a doubt. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Oh and l can’t forget to mention the pepper sauce ️ amazing

SHRIMP ROTI. …PROBLEM. Yall cant be using doubles sized shrimp for your roti. I was not thrilled to pay wjat is did to get the smallest shrimp for a roti. If they were in a double with chana of course then yes.

Love u guys otherwise
