Not sure if its open now. Excellent examlpe of 20th century railroad depot. The C&EI Depot survived abandonment in the 1970s thanks to local preservationists. In 1995, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP #95000632) for its architectural and historical significance as a well-preserved example of Prairie School-influenced rail design and its role in Salem’s transportation history. Owned privately by Doug and Pam Fontana since the 1990s, it underwent restoration to maintain its original features while adapting for limited commercial use.

The legion was the place we had for our World Color Press reunion. It has been 18 years since the plant closed. Everyone seemed to have a good time. Thanks to the Legion for hosting our reunion.

Great location and facility. The staff and board members are wonderful. Highly recommend. Also, it’s an open club so you don’t have to be a member.

Waited for over an hour and half for our meal before we left. When we informed them that we were leaving. They assured us our food had not even been started yet.
