Restaurant is designed very well and aesthetically very pleasing but that’s about it. The food is very subpar. I get that vodka sauce is not a healthy meal by any means but the amount of oil sitting at the bottom is sickening. Alfredo sauce was also very thick and tasted like cream and nothing else. Also very pricey for the quality of food. 1 star is for pizza because at least that is decent but that alone won’t make me return. Pass on this restaurant unless you’re coming for drinks and vibes only.

My wife and I dined at Salamone’s North on our 52nd Valentine’s Day celebration. A great menu to choose from. A cozy and inviting atmosphere. The food was wonderful, cocktails were well done and the wine selection was broad. Our food server Jackie and bartender Allie also get a 5 Star rating. Also!! Very reasonable prices. This restaurant is a very hidden treasure to the greater Rockford area!! We’ll definitely return………..

I went there for a birthday party with a bunch of friends. The service was amazing. Very attentive and listened well. I had the lasagna. Absolutely excellent. Especially if you like a meaty lasagna. I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed

Such high hopes after a recommendation….
Atmosphere- modern and pleasing. Tables for 2 are very compact. Made us feel a bit claustrophobic.
Service- our server seemed bothered to be working. First smile came when she dropped off the bill. Never asked if we needed additional drinks (when both a water and wine were empty). There was a very pleasant and welcoming woman at the hostess table though.
Food- biggest let down of all. Started with bruschetta- the only highlight. It could have used a balsamic glaze, but still was flavorful. I enjoyed it. Friend had the Italian beef bowl. She was incredibly let down saying there was zero flavor in the meat and au jus. I had the chicken marsala. It was borderline inedible. The chicken had a light breading and it was topped with a gelatinous-looking sauce. I ate maybe 1/4 of the dish even after scraping the jelly-like sauce and breading off the chicken. The remaining sauce was very sweet. Too sweet. I ate a few of the noodles and mushrooms. $20 wasted. I did not take any left overs home.
Will not go to again. Would not recommend.

We tried the small Taco Pizza and a large sausage and pepperoni. The taco pizza was piled high with ingredients. It was excellent. Came with some taco sauce and sour cream on the side. The sausage and pepp pizza was very good too. The crust was perfect and the sausage was tasty. We had carry out. The staff were very friendly when we picked up our dinner. I think that this is one of the best pizza spots in Rockford. We will be ordering here again! Decided to dine in on NYE. The Sal’s Special pizza was excellent. Orhers in my party had the seafood portofino, mostaccioli, and fettuccine Alfredo, and the lobster bisque soup. All was well liked. The dining room is really nice, wait staff were great, and it was overall great dining experience! I highly recommend.

My sibling’s and I grew up on Salamone’s when it was just a pickup spot near Belvidere. We’ve remained loyal customers who now bring our kids to or order from primarily the Cherry Valley location until now. Yesterday my 5 year old niece specifically asked for Salamones and to eat there. Due to time and where we were coming from the Mulford location made more sense. We had the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had. Two different women served us. Neither introducing themselves and I don’t even know who was actually our server. When we finally got our food a cheese pizza for her and a salad for me, the pizza was barely done with puddles of grease on it. The salad was also awful. The chicken was excessively dry the lettuce brown. One of the women came to check on us 3 minutes after we got our food then never again. We said our food was ok because I’m diabetic and needed to eat along with time constraint. I also noticed that not a single waitress checked any table. I had to flag someone down to get a check a long while later she brought our check. I paid cash and card she said she was confused about what I wanted so I told her and remained polite. 20 minutes after that conversation no one returned. I had to take my niece to the front desk and ask to finish paying. The woman there was so rude and said she wasn’t our server and didn’t know who was. Mind you I had already stood at the desk being ignored by everyone for a few minutes. I also explained how long we had been waiting for the check. 6 minutes later someone came with the bill for me to sign. As I said I’ve been a customer since the small carryout shop was open, but we will absolutely never be a customer again. I RARELY if ever write a review especially negative, and understand if you were short staffed, but hardly anyone was there it was us and 2 tables around 4pm. To be completely ignored and have to seek out service is unacceptable. I will not allow my nephews or niece to be treated that way. It breaks my heart to end a family tradition but we will make new ones at restaurants that actually care about customers and food quality.

Placed an order for pickup, the order took longer then *estimated to be done which isn’t horrible, we waited at the bar for our pizza to be done. But they brought out two pizzas. Turns out they took the order wrong over the phone and charged us for two pizzas.
When we brought the issue up with the hostess she argued that she was the one who took the order and definitely did it right. The attitude was rude and unnecessary instead of trying to fix the issue. The woman who ended up fixing the order charge mistake wasn’t much better for attitude like us overcharged was more inconvenient to her. No worries, if having paying customers is an inconvenience I’ll take my business elsewhere.
Then after checking the pizza… Well look at the photos… fresh, still in the box. Sloppy, burnt, the half ingredients requested is unclear which side is which.
As far as a take out experience goes. This one was definitely not pleasant. I’d recommend the owners possibly look into a retraining moment. Not sure why our pizza is burnt and just not the level of food or service anticipated.
