The Garden State’s culinary scene is full of options for any appetite, but the salad shops are appealing, catering to the surge of health-conscious patrons seeking both nourishment and flavor.
Although one can easily make these bowls oneself at home, there’s something about going to a quick salad bar restaurant that just seems to make life easier, which is why my partner and I decided on a great nutritious, low-calorie lunch at Saladworks in Rutherford Commons off of Route 17 North.
Upon arrival as first-timers at its immaculate interior with ample seating and a friendly vibe, we were greeted by the staff.
They offer a customizable, health-focused menu featuring signature salads, wraps, warm grain bowls, panini melts, and soups.
We decided on the Sofie salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing and Avocado Cobb with the same raspberry vinaigrette. Complimentary warm rolls were given, and we washed them down with raspberry sparkling water.
The food was fresh, flavorful, and made exactly to our liking with a great variety of toppings and dressings to choose from. The portions were very healthy. The price was comparable to the area.
The staff at the counter were professional, accommodating, friendly, and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience.
They exceeded our expectations in every way.

I wanted to tell you about my visit to Saladworks in Rutherford Commons. The place was really clean and looked nice, and it felt welcoming when I walked in.
I ordered the Avocado Cobb with Green Goddess dressing. It was really fresh and tasty. Everything was made just how I wanted it, and the portion was good. The price was fair too.
I also want to say that Ryan, the server, was super helpful. He answered my questions and made sure I got everything right. He was really friendly and made the visit better.

Really great salad, very fresh ingredients, great service, very clean and spacious. Really good portion sizes. Only issue is I would like more included toppings. Besides that, it is a good place for a nice healthy meal

I placed a order online for 1 bowl 3 sandwiches. They made the bowl wrong and left off the meat and the sandwiches have the smallest pieces of chicken a can of cat food probably has more meat than these sandwiches. Overall not happy for $55 worth of bread and wrong order.

Good quality salad. It’s definitely expensive when they do not offer take away bags. Or they don’t sell them Really? Unfortunately my salad opened up and spilt everywhere. So recommend asking for salads to be tape enforced and bring your own bag.

Received a different sandwich than what I ordered and it was disgusting. Likely a turkey and cheddar panini but I can’t be sure. Possibly some type of mayo spread with “turkey” and shredded cheese thrown on top. Again, disgusting. The chicken tortilla soup was good though.

First time going to Saladworks. The young man at the counter was awesome- professional, friendly, and helpful. The ingredients tasted fresh and the store was very clean. Would order or take out from here again. Was not busy and parking was easy to find.
