We had a craving for sushi. We get to sushi place of choice. CLOSED on Mondays. So I did a search to see if the semi-new Saladang’s (which was right around the corner) serves sushi. YEP! So we head over. We get seated and greeted by super sweet Whitney. Then we find out that they don’t serve sushi on Mondays. JUST OUR LUCK! So we decide that we’re already there so we’ll just find something else on the menu.
OUR WHOLE FAMILY WAS SO GLAD IT WORKED OUT THE WAY IT DID. FATE STEPPED IN!
We got the Shrimp Spring Rolls to start. They were so fresh and delicious! My son and I got Drunken Noodles (which you can pick your level of heat in), My husband got Chicken Fried Rice, and my daughter got Miso Ramen. Everything was AMAZING! I mean SOOOOOOOO AMAZING!
The service was superior. Whitney made great suggestions and was so friendly!
All of us agreed we will DEFINITELY be back!!!! Maybe we’ll try the sushi or maybe we’ll just get our new favorites dishes!
I ordered the Thai Coconut Soup with Bok Choy & Mushroom with chicken as my protein, and I also had the Thai Panang Curry with beef as my protein at Ty’s suggestion, because I wanted to try some curry also. Being concerned about spice level, I ordered mild, and Ty told me if it wasn’t spicy enough I could always add chili oil to it! I ordered a Thai tea for my drink and a regular tea in case I didn’t enjoy it.
I am so happy to say that I enjoyed every single bite of food I had. I have been RAVING about this all day!!!! There was an incredible amount of flavor in the dishes, it was perfectly balanced and the spice sat nicely on my tongue without being overwhelming. The beef was tender and cooked beautifully, the chicken in the soup pulled the flavor of the broth in so well, I genuinely had no notes on anything.
The service was incredible. The staff was so attentive, but I was heartbroken to see that, during my time, only a couple tables came in. I could tell how much the staff cared about the place, I even saw the chef come out a couple times to see if I liked my food or not. It touched my heart, because I KNEW that he cared about his craft. It’s hard to find that sometimes!
This restaurant needs more business! Sanford does not have enough diversity in our cullinary options, and this is something that we would truly be missing if we were to lose it. I will be visiting regularly, alone with my book, or with friends!! You all should, too!!!
We went back for our second time the next Friday. We ordered 9 different things and they were absolutely delicious. We got left over but they were still so good the next days. The service was great and food came out quickly. We very happy with everything.
