The restaurant is spacious and the service was on point. I ordered tom yum soup, this has to be one of the best I have had recently. The hainenese chicken had the expected garnish of green onion and ginger but I had to ask twice for the missing oyster sauce. My Dad was a chef and restaurant owner, I grew up on this dish. I have researched everywhere and recipes show pickled cucumbers and the soup which was served with spicy zucchini. The chicken isn’t enjoyable without oyster sauce and the rice is dry with the sprinkle of fried onions. The dish feels incomplete without oyster sauce. The waiter said they normally don’t add sauce to the meal unless a sauce is used in a marinade. I don’t know of any Asian kitchen without oyster sauce. I was offered fish sauce, which is absolutely a disaster for my tastebuds. The service was expectedly fine, and I will have to take another look at the menu.

We really enjoy our meal here! Our server, Daniela, was hands down the best server I have had. She was so helpful with the menu, making sure her suggestion meets our dietary restriction (halal) and made sure to check up on us throughout the dinner. She definitely made our evening! We also really like the ambiance at this place. We got the Thai ice tea (really smooth), Islamic noodle (quite delicious) and seafood fried rice (my favorite). The portion size was really good. The gem was the dessert: sticky rice with the mango. It definitely was a hidden gem and we will recommend. Overall an amazing place and the service from Daniela was beyond outstanding! 100% recommend this restaurant!

Love the Queen St location. Tasty food, big portions and affordable prices. Don’t miss out on their special menu, the Korean fried chicken is fire

Update: As always salad king has amazing customer service, and offered me a free dessert to compensate. I really do appreciate the service! Maybe won’t get the mango rice but definitely will be back for something else 🙂
The service is also excellent. I appreciate how when I was taking out they offered me a free cup of water while I wait, very kind and I haven’t seen a lot of places do this.
the mango was hard, unripe and I had to throw out the mango because it was the worst mango sticky rice I’ve had and I wasted 9$

Nice place and service. But the food was disappointing. The only good item was the spring rolls– plump, crunchy and generous portion. My gripes with the rest of the food lie with the lack of flavor. No taste of thai herbs. Even when Tom yum has spicy kick, there’s no lemongrass flavor. Linda’s special crispy beef curry again lacked thai flavor, even though the beef part was nicely done. Basil noodle was generous portion of noodles with not much meat, veggies or flavor. Definitely not an authentic Thai place.

I’ve been a fan of salad king for a long time. I’ve been a customer since they were at Yonge and Gould. I had a Pad Thai, beef panang, Thai fried rice, honey garlic Pattaya. The pad Thai was lacking in sauce and the flavour was a bit on the bland side. The beef panang was decent. The Pattaya sauce was quite watery. Most surprising of all was the white rice that came with the dishes was not Thai rice! Somehow the quality has gone done compared to how it was before. Service was so-so. It felt like a very westernized Thai restaurant.

I have eaten here once. Queen St. at McCaul St.
3 star, sit down fast food. Eat and go.
The flavors were good and the menu was busy. Some Thai meals for most tastes.
The service was friendly and attentive.
The food arrived fast and hot.
This is a licenced establishment if you want an alcoholic beverage.
I would recommend this place for a well priced, quick meal.

The food is alright, but I was hoping for a taste closer to authentic Thai cuisine.
I had high expectations for the Mango Salad based on my friends’ recommendations, but it turned out to be below average for me, as was the rest of the food. But the Garlic Shrimps were excellent! They’re a flavor bomb; I’d revisit just for them.
Overall, the place offers good service and a pleasant atmosphere, with reasonably priced menu items.

It‘s mostly Thai Food for Mains, but we loved the fresh Mango-Salad as a starter – with 2 tasty non-alcoholic Drinks in a Special for 15,- CAD. The mains were also good and Price-Performance Overall is good. We would come again…
