Super authentic flavour and great service. It’s our first time there and went for their set lunch. It has a lovely variety of option and the food is so fresh and delicious.

The only down side is the portion size – but not a deal breaker.

Moo Ping (pork skewers) and Tom Kati (beef in coconut/lemongrass). We are in SE Asia 1 month a year and this food was stunning. I can only comment on these two dishes. Best tasting Thai food I’ve had in the UK. Another level.

Ordered a take away. All the dishes were tasty although the meat was a bit corse and not as tender as I expected. Hence the 4 stars. The portion size was good. We spent £46 for a green curry, a stir fry, a pad Thai and a portion of Thai crackers. That is with a 10% collection discount. It was enjoyable. Stevenage is well served by Thai restaurants, personally this is my 2nd choice.

Two of us came in yesterday on a whim for lunch. The ambience was lovely and the service warm, attentive and prompt. The food was really excellent. We had the beef massaman curry (the beef was generously portioned and very tender), the chicken and potato gang ga ree with egg fried rice. We also had a portion of vegetable spring rolls (really good) and prawn crackers. We had three Coke zeros. The bill was approx £57 in total (and they did not add a service charge). We were very impressed and will certainly be back. Highly recommend.

Always great. The lunch menu is good value and never stingy. The only thing I would say is that, as a vegetarian, it would be good to have more options that don’t include the tofu as this is always too undercooked for me personally.

I visited Sala Thong for their lunch special, offering two courses for £14.90, and it was an excellent choice for a midday treat.

For starters, my friend and I shared the chicken satay and calamari. Both dishes were fresh and flavorful—the satay was perfectly tender with a rich, creamy peanut sauce, while the calamari was crispy and well-seasoned.

For mains, we tried the pineapple fried rice and chicken pad see ew. The pineapple fried rice was a delightful mix of sweet and savory flavors, and the pad see ew had a great balance of smoky, charred noodles and tender chicken.

Although the lunch special didn’t include dessert, we couldn’t resist ordering the mango sticky rice pudding, which turned out to be the star of the meal. The combination of sweet mango, creamy coconut, and sticky rice was absolutely divine.

The service was quick and friendly, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. I also appreciated the open kitchen concept—it was fun to see the chefs in action, preparing each dish with care.

Overall, Sala Thong offers a fantastic value for delicious Thai food with a warm and inviting atmosphere. I’ll definitely be returning, especially for that mango sticky rice!

Very authentic place! & amazing foods. All the tastes are unbelievably flavour bombs!

The menu is good, lots pf dishes you want to associate with Thai & a wide range

The staff is really nice. The restaurant has friendly vive & great for friends on a relaxed evening out, but also always you to dress up for a date night with partner

We had the squid start & was to die for! The drinks are great too. All the time we were there, just longing for next dish or looking at other people’s… should probably go back again soon

Walked in to grab a take away, atmosphere was nice and lively shame it wasn’t matched by a welcoming smile. While in, I noticed a whole seabream on a table which seemed tasty, but it wasn’t the same for my choices. I had fried squid that werehard as shoesoles and totally not worth the price. Same goes for the overcooked upon: the only thing remarkable was how hot they were. 2 starters and 2 mains were about £50 for takeaway, not sure I’m going back…. ever!

We visited last night and from the beginning to end the staff were so friendly and service was great unlike other restaurants we were not rushed out. The food was amazing the flavours and quality of food were on point, Worth every penny. The atmosphere was great, cleanliness was by far the best in the old town. We will visit again.
