Great “newer” Mexican restaurant in Park Ridge. Nice environment and atmosphere with plenty of free parking. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Plenty of freshsly made warm tortilla chips (fried tortilla style) and red salsa. We had the Chesse Quesadilla, Guacamole for appetizers, and Mi Tierra Burrito, Steak Enchiladas De Mole, Steak Fajitas, Steak Rancheros, Kids Chicken Burrito, and Kids Steak Taco for dinner. Also had Churros, Cheesecake, Flan Napolitano, and Gelato for the kids, for dessert. Everything was delicious. The kids loved their kid’s meals. Will definitely be back.

Found this place just by looking on google. I really had high hopes because they have such good reviews. Overall I felt the food was mediocre and I could have gotten the same food at a cheaper Mexican restaurant. The chips seem house made, they were very obviously deep fried. I ended up asking for a second basket because halfway through the first one all the chips were broken. (They also leave full baskets of chips on each table as they wait for customers so the chips are left unattended and open.)
I ordered the Sal pique, the steak had great flavor, the beans were slightly watery and the rice was a little mushy. Overall the flavor was good but I’m being a harsh critic because the dish costs $37.
The service was great. Our server, I believe her name was Flavia. She was very polite, quickly took our order and delivered the food: the table was cleaned promptly once we finished eating. She checked in often and asked if everything was okay.
Overall everything was okay. I didn’t complain about my meal at the restaurant because I’m just not that person. I more so feel the meal was not worth the price but, the food tasted good.

I’ve been quite a few times and it’s our favorite Mexican at the moment! I haven’t been disappointed, I always love my drinks and food is consistently good. We love the mole and salsa flight. Tortilla soup is flavorful and comforting. The veggies and meat taste quality and service is always attentive

Sal Pique Park Ridge – An awesome dining experience!
From the moment we arrived at Sal Pique, we felt the warm hospitality of this family-owned restaurant. The warmth and attentiveness of the staff made us feel like part of the family. The owners were very friendly and were interacting with customers throughout the evening.
The service was efficient and the food and drinks were delicious. Everything we ordered was fresh and the portions were very generous. Everyone at our table of five enjoyed their meals and drinks.
Sal Pique was cozy and festive. They had a live Mariachi Band, which only made the night more enjoyable.
We had an excellent dining experience and stayed until closing. We will definitely be returning soon!
Whether you love Mexican food or you’re simply looking for a memorable dining experience, Sal Pique will exceed your expectations!

This the best Mexican food in Park Ridge. My wife and I went for some late night dinner on Wednesday night and left very happy and full. The enchiladas mole were quite excellent. It’s a very traditional mole sauce. The service is great. The drinks are excellent. Not too sweet, which I appreciate. I will say the chips are a little bit on the oily side so maybe they need to shake it out a little bit more when it comes out of the fryer. I highly recommend the barbacoa. I will be getting the skirt steak next time. Seating is plentiful and there are two bars to sit at which is pretty impressive for a downtown Park Ridge establishment. I really hope the food quality stays the same because I really love this restaurant.
All in all, I can’t wait to come back to this place. So happy we were able to try it.

We decided to try a new place for breakfast, and are already saying we want to go back tomorrow for dinner! This place is true authentic Mexican food. We could not have been happier with our meals – full of flavor, came out quickly, and left us very satisfied. The chips and salsa were already on the table when we arrived and it was hard to not eat all them because they were so good and we didn’t want to get too full before our meal! Previous reviews mention the chips being a little too oily – please do not change this I loved them. Ambiance was great, and staff was even better.
If you haven’t tried this place for breakfast you have to check it out!

Update: 5/5/25: Cinco de Mayo! Another great meal and live entertainment!
Loved the decor and ambiance of Sal Pique! My husband and I ate here on a Wednesday night. We had a great experience overall. Staff was friendly and attentive. No issues in wait time for drinks or meal. Food tasted delicious. My husband had chicken fajitas and I had the Barbacoa tacos. Both meals came with rice and beans. My only criticism is that the beans could have used a little more flavor. As an FYI there is no longer a charge for the chips and salsa which were placed on our table as soon as we sat down. Also, the there was no 3% service charge on our bill. We definitely will return.

My parents and I loved everything we ate and the drinks. Super friendly & attentive service. I had the barbacoa enchiladas with salsa verde, my parents had the shrimp & rice and steak burrito. We couldn’t stop raving about it. Never heard of a blueberry margarita but I got one and loved it. Chips & salsa came complimentary despite what earlier reviews say. Seems this new restaurant is listening to feedback and taking action. Definitely go out and give it a try! Excellent addition to Park Ridge

First of all the decor at this place was great. There was obvious attention to detail. Chips are already on the tables even before you sit down. The salsa was good, but I wanted a side of guacamole which was authentically made. We shared the steak fajitas and chicken mole. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and we had leftovers to take home. My husband wasn’t a fan of the mole but I liked it. We both agreed the steak was cooked perfectly. I think I found my new favorite nearby Mexican restaurant!

Delicious! 10/10 I would recommend it and would definitely be coming back again. The green sauce ribs are absolutely amazing and so were the shrimp. Amazing seasoning! The atmosphere is upbeat and pleasant. Something I appreciated was that if the have well seasoned and non spicy options. They have something for everyone whether you love spicy food or non spicy food. I definitely came back to try the Talpiqueña dish, that has a chicken tortilla covered in mole with a delicious side salad.
