My wife loves sushi – me, no thanks. But I am happy to dine at a restaurant that also serves Tempura. We found Sakura Sushi and I saw they did In fact have other choices besides sushi on their menu. We visited on a weeknight and were seated immediately. I liked the vibe and feel of the restaurant and the person who sat us was friendly.
After a few minutes we placed our order – I had the Tempura Dinner and my wife ordered the nightly special with Nigiri.
We both ordered a beer which arrived shortly after our order along with Miso Soup. It was a good Miso, with long strands of mushroom that I had not had before. The Tempura Dinner had 3 pieces of good sized Shrimp and a variety of battered and friend vegetables. My wife’s special had an assortment of Nigiri Sushi which she really enjoyed. Prices were reasonable given the portion size, flavor and service. I would happily return to Sakura Sushi for another meal.

I ordered take out late, but they still took my order, I should’ve known it’d be good when my ubereats delivery driver said I made a great choice and that it was his favorite! Amazingly fresh delicious and beautiful! This was my first time ordering bc it is out of my normal area, I am house/puppy sitting and I was craving sushi. What a gem! Yum! Thank you!

Loved everything we ordered here! The long crab miso soup was very delicious with a generous portion of crab meat, albeit just a little bit too rich for my taste even though it was tasty and flavorful. Just something I wouldn’t be able to finish on my own but sharing it is perfect.
The Real Crab California Roll and Baked Scallop Roll were both delicious! Pairing our meal with hot green tea felt so nice.

Sakura sushi is honestly a great place to eat, but here’s the thing. The food is great but the service isn’t. Plus they don’t give you directions that you actually have to get up your self and order. I sat there for over a half n hour with my father, just for some tobiko nigiri. And it’s not an easy place to find, the location isn’t very pleasing. Theo overall review is four stars. Thank you.

Sakura Sushi is a little bit out of the way, not close enough to downtown San Rafael, too far from Novato, and next to a tired cinema. But it is a delightful little place tucked away in Smith Ranch.
On both occasions, the Sushi was excellent. On our second trip out, we thought our first experience could be a win over low expectations, so we were prepared to be disappointed. But the preparation and presentation was great, the Sushi was fresh, and service was friendly.
The ambience is low-key. It is a small, neighborhood restaurant, so don’t go expecting to be blown away by the experience. But with Sushi, it comes down to the food. The freshness of the fish, the skill of the chefs, and the visual delight of the presentation. You won’t be disappointed on those scores.

Extremely excellent food for a very reasonable price. Sushi restaurants are hard to find in the area, and this is a hidden gem located on the side of a commercial office building. Though it struggled to keep its quality and service consistent through the pandemic, it has come back even better, with a very wide variety of menu options, each one with immaculate quality and taste, overall quick service, and a very welcoming environment. If there is any place to go out for sushi it’s here.

I inhaled most of the sushi. I called 10 minutes before they closed for pickup asking for a really good special roll. I remember she said something about tuna. I of course said yes as long as there’s no cream cheese or bell peppers. The sweet lady was patient and took my order.
Holy cow! Whatever this is with tuna inside and tuna outside… it’s freaking delicious! Kudos for a perfect roll. The rice is perfect, the tuna is perfect and whatever else is in there is perfect!

Delicious sushi spot and great with delivery! Ordered the bento box lunch special. It came with rice, miso soup, and salad. I ordered the sashimi, nigiri, and spicy tuna roll. Totally worth it and completely delectable. All items were received at the right temperature and it was packaged well. In that, the rice and soup were hot and the fish was not-stellar customer service. Overall, I will order form here again and would recommend it!
