absolutely recommend the beef ribs + the squid sashimi, beautifully seasoned and sooo fresh.
price is more than reasonable for all they offer.
At first, I thought it might have been a delivery mistake, so I called the restaurant to clarify. The gentleman who answered told me that I had ordered from the lunch menu and that soup and salad were not included, even though the app clearly stated otherwise. He explained that I was not “supposed” to be able to order from the lunch menu at dinner time and implied it was an app issue. He also said, “Oh no, you’re not going to see that on the menu tomorrow,” which felt unnecessary. How the restaurant and Uber Eats manage their menu listings is not the customer’s concern. As a customer, I simply expect my order to match what is clearly advertised and described in the app.
Don’t get me wrong, the food looked great and tasted good. However, the way the first person handled the call was disappointing. He kept denying that it was their mistake and repeatedly emphasized that this was the reason they did not include the soup and salad. It felt like responsibility was being shifted instead of acknowledging the confusion. One simple phone call to inform me about the menu discrepancy before sending the order out would have completely resolved everything. I would have been absolutely fine with it and gladly added soup and salad to the order.
He did offer to send it out after I called, but once he realized I was 21 minutes away, I told him not to worry about it since we had already started eating.
A few minutes later, a woman who said she was the manager called me back. She was very apologetic and handled the situation much more professionally. She went above and beyond by sending soup and salad along with a $20 gift certificate, which we truly appreciated. I want to be clear that we were not trying to get anything out of this situation. We simply wanted to share that clear communication goes a long way and can prevent situations like this from escalating or requiring a phone call in the first place.
This was my first time ordering from this restaurant. We often order takeout first before deciding whether to dine in.
As someone who has worked as a server in a Japanese restaurant and who is currently in the customer service field, I understand that mistakes happen. What matters most is how they are handled. Clear communication and accountability go a long way.
The food itself was good, and we will definitely take the opportunity to dine in in the near future.
We ordered a little bit of everything on the menu and very glad we did. EVERY bite was a delight! Lovely presentation too.
The owner was pleasant and friendly. Very much appreciated the fact that she personally went to every table to see how customers were doing. At the moment they’re BYOB, which we didn’t mind at all. Husband stepped out to buy a bottle of wine. They immediately brought over wine glasses and offered to uncork our bottle without us even asking. As I mentioned, excellent service.
All around it was a great experience and found our new sushi spot! I wish them the very best, they definitely have a new regular customer!
