We made a reservation to celebrate two birthdays for 7. The majority of our party got here at 6:50 and a couple others were 10 minutes late. It took 35 minutes of us being there before they even said hello or took drink orders. After waiting 15 minutes for our drinks I went to ask what was up, I was responded to with “Why, do you have somewhere to be”. Im not sure why that should matter considering we had a reservation. Finally got our drinks at 7:50. The person I spoke to about the late drinks was incredibly rude and had the audacity not only to ask that question but to point over to our server who was finally putting together our tray of drinks after 45 minutes and tell me that obviously we were being taken care of. We are all joking around about ordering doordash with how long we waited. While waiting we saw many walk-in guests come in and be seated and they had finished their food and checked out before our chefs even came out. The chefs didn’t come until 8:50, almost two hours into our reservation. Half the table got their food first and by the time the everyone had food the first half of the table was finished with theirs and received their checks. Unfortunately the soup bowls were only about a quarter full and the salads were literally soaked with water. The chef forgot several items including our rice and extra sides that had been ordered and looked inconvenienced to be asked for them. He did have some funny jokes and the food was decent, but not nearly worth the price. Once we finally got our food it took them no time at all to provide the checks. The server was very apologetic (although the manager stayed rude) and they did comp our drinks and one meal out of the 11 we got. Despite that, my rating will remain one star because of the overall experience and the attitude of the manager.

Probably some of the worst service I’ve ever received. Had a RESERVATION and had to wait over 40 minutes for one drink. And still have yet to place my order yet. Service is a joke with the 18% automatic gratuity. A place that has to do something like this probably already knows about their low quality service in the first place, hence the forced tip. I will not be coming here again. I’d rather go to Kabutos Japanese Steakhouse in Ohio.

Food was not great, had the grill too hot and my shrimp and scallops were burnt. Burnt the onions and zucchini as well. Service was good, food not so much. Spent 300 bucks and our food was not worth it!

The sushi is on fire. We had two of the cooked rolls the Spider, and Rangoon roll, splendid. Also ordered two different types of ramen they were fantastic, The fresh ingredients and meat come in a bowl and the broth comes separate it’s nice to see the veggies so fresh. People are super nice and the restaurant was clean.

Not great. Hibachi done backwards. Literally. Cooked shrimp and scallops first and then rice and chicken last…who does that? Food was burnt and sushi took forever. Really not a lot of food either.
Service was great though, no issues there. Food was expensive for what we received. I wouldn’t go back.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ BEST RESTAURANT EVER — HANDS DOWN
Sakura Japanese Steak House in Lawrenceburg, Indiana is easily one of the best dining experiences you’ll ever have. From the moment you walk in, everything is top-notch. The atmosphere is welcoming, fun, and energetic, making it perfect for families, friends, date nights, or celebrations.
The food is phenomenal. Every bite is fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The hibachi meals are incredible — tender steak, juicy chicken, perfectly seasoned shrimp, and vegetables cooked just right. The sushi is always fresh and expertly prepared, easily rivaling big-city Japanese restaurants.
The hibachi chefs are amazing. Not only are they skilled cooks, but they also bring entertainment, personality, and excitement to the table. It’s dinner and a show, and they make every visit memorable.
The service is outstanding. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely cares about making sure you have an amazing experience. Drinks are always refilled, the tables are clean, and everything runs smoothly.
Overall:
Sakura isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience. If you’re anywhere near Lawrenceburg and don’t eat at Sakura, you’re missing out. Five stars isn’t enough. This place deserves ten stars.
Highly recommend. Will absolutely be back again and again.
Thanks for being the greatest Restaurant ever Danny Holbrook former owner of Hathaway’s Diner

The people are nice and the service is okay, but the food is really bland and way over priced. The floors are dirty and slippery. Our feet and chairs were sliding all over the place. Was very disappointed in the quality of the food. Definitely not worth $30+ a plate.

My husband and I went to Sakura in Lawrenceburg Indiana, August 16 for my husband‘s birthday! We had a Sakura down by Us on the west side of town and it closed down so we decided to drive from Cincinnati to Lawrenceburg Indiana. We have never had a bad meal at the Sakura on Rybolt Road. However, the Sakura in Lawrenceburg, Indiana was terrible! My husband ordered scallops and fillet and he got nothing but burnt shrimp. Everyone’s shrimp tasted burnt however no one said anything, trying to be nice because they were very busy. However, our chef was in too big of a hurry and had the grill up way too high and everything tasted burnt. When the waitress brought our bill over and we told her about the mishap, she said oh sorry I will take one of your fried shrimps for 575 off? His meal was over $40 and we should’ve been credited the whole $40 however she seemed to disagree and charged him $30 for the shrimp hibachi meal. Which is not even what he ordered. This place is terrible. I would never go again.
