My friend and I arrived about 7p and surprisingly was able to get seated immediately. You know there is a wait if you see the silver chairs filled on the outside. Groups larger than 4 might have to wait a bit. There is only street parking available, so just realize it might be hard to find a parking spot. Aside from the parking and perhaps a brief wait, I enjoyed the food. The pic shows eel and some basic rolls we ordered. I also ordered a tasty dragon roll. Dinner combos are also available along with sushi combo plate. Be ready to take food home as it is definitely a place where you order a lot but might not finish.

Super speedy no nonsense sushi. Was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the fish. The asparagus shrimp tempura roll and the assorted nigiri were our faves. Would recommend the sushi combo (chef’s choice)!

Great Japanese restaurant, been here in LA for a long time. Its quite loud and busy inside but the food is great! We were seated within minutes even though it was very busy. Courteous and kind service. There are 3 sushi chefs at the bar. Positive atmosphere.

This is my favorite all-around Japanese comfort food in Los Angeles. Sushi is always fresh. The service is excellent. I’ve never had a bad dish here. The sides are authentic, and the line is long to get in at times, but it is always worth the wait.

Prices for the sushi combos are reasonable but be aware that the sushi combo will likely come with one octopus nigiri and one squid nigiri. Other sushi joints typically do not do this, particularly my favorite sushi joint (doesn’t). Octopus and squid are always the two most inexpensive items on a nigiri sushi menu. So you get a reasonably priced sushi combo meal but it comes with two nigiri that I didn’t want — octopus and squid. You can substitute out but they will charge for it. If I returned to Sakura, I definitely would not order the combo again.

One of my favorite Japanese spots in the area. The teriyaki chicken is grilled and has an abundance of flavor, I ordered the white meat and also the beef teriyaki which was debatably better depending on who you ask. I ordered a side of crab gyozas which were good but the sushi is where it’s at. Fresh nigiri and sashimi served daily
