This is yet another place I drive by all the time, yet haven’t ever set foot inside. This was a real shame – I like some good sushi from time to time and this place is pretty close to my apartment and right off my normal route to work. Well, tonight I ended the sad tragedy of not having eaten at Sakura Express – it was well past time to do so.

I was on vacation in the area and stopped by to get some sushi, I’m glad this was the place we chose! The music they were playing was really good (in my opinion) and the food was even better! They have great deals on their sushi and our server (I can’t remember her name unfortunately) was so sweet! Our food came out really fast and the crab rangoons and gyoza are some of the best I’ve had!

Their sushi is amazing every time but they built this giant ghetto wooden box in the doorway that you have yo walk through to get to the dining room… it’s ugly, causes people to trip and serves no purpose. It was a covid Era installation but it’s totally open all the time now so now it’s just one hell of an eye sore/inconvenience.

I have dined at Sakura In The past and have always had good experiences, perhaps managers have changed, but it used to be a very clean place with good service and good food. It was not the same recently. Place was very unorganized, messy, and just generally gave an uncomfortable feeling. Our server was good, but those delivering food didn’t know what table to deliver to (only 6 tables in the restaurant). Food had definitely taken a step back from prior. Maybe this is just the staffing and supply stuff everyone is facing, but sadly I won’t be going back.

I’ve been coming here pretty regularly since they opened back in 2016. Everything all around is pretty good, but I’ve felt that the quality has gone down in the last couple years, mainly for their entrees from the sushi bar.
