I eat sushi regularly and my meal this evening, far and away had the freshest and most flavorful ingredients I’ve ever had at this type of restaurant in Omaha. We walked in at 8:20, unaware that they close at 9:00 until after we had already ordered and I thought to google their hours. With that being said, we tried not to linger and I look forward to going back when we have more time. The staff is so friendly, service was fast, atmosphere was cozy and the food was incredible! Thanks so much!

Can’t rate this place high enough!! I’ve been going for close to 10 years and I’ve never been let down. A very large selection, all of which is simply delicious. It’s so hard to find Japanese food other than sushi around here. Of course, their sushi is incredible as well. I just went a few days ago and am thinking of all the things I want to order next. I love the quiet traditional seating area.
Two things I almost always have to get are agedashi tofu to start and red bean ice cream to end!

Stopped in for lunch with a co-worker to check it out as neither of us had been here. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Clean looking restaurant. Ordered one of the bento style lunches. Food was good and arrived quickly. Definitely recommend stopping in if you have a chance.

They were bought by another company and the quality of the food has declined, the menu is also super tiny now.
I can’t recommend this anymore
Below was my previous review:
The food is amazing here! I highly recommend the sukiyaki with udon noodles.
The sushi is top quality and really delicious. Much better than other restaurants downtown.

We visited Sakura Bana for the first time and learnt they were the first sushi bar in Omaha, although their name was different back when they opened. Their sushi tasted absolutely delicious and the ambience was nice as well. The restaurant is a little expensive than most other sushi places in Omaha, but it does not disappoint.

Following my friend’s recommendation, my family and I went to visit Sakura Bana for the first time. Absolutely glad that we went. Everything from atmosphere, service, food quality to prices, we were impressed. We will definitely return as regulars. Also, the restaurant really has the Japan feel 🙂

I tried this Japanese food here for the first time, and the food was so good. I tried the lunch combo, which included tempura, sushi, rice, soup, and salad, and it was filling for one person. I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere there was also good. I still miss the Japanese ambiance, but I absolutely love it and will definitely visit again someday. The location is on central Omaha, at the intersection of Dodge and 72nd, making it easily accessible. The price is also reasonable.

I had high expectations for Sakura Bana after the change in ownership, but I couldn’t have been more disappointed. We ordered the Sushi for Two,and it was far from being worth $60. Both the sushi and the rice were incredibly dry and lacked flavor. I highly recommend visiting Umami instead—same price, but significantly better quality and a much larger variety of sushi.

The food is very good there. It’s well above our expectations. The sashimi of the nigiri is fresh and the price is reasonable. I had the beef sukiyaki which is delicious as well. Although it is one person portion, I need help to finish the whole dish. My friend ordered the unagi don which she said it was good. I would recommend this place.

We ordered double portion Shabu Shabu and it was around $35. We were disappointed with the quality of beef. Wished they use better type of beef like Ribeye. At least that what I had from all the Shabu Shabu restaurants in Los Angeles, California. Salmon Bento was around $18. One thing I like the best was our server, she was very courteous and nice. Will give a four stars if they use better quality meat for Shabu Shabu.
