By far my favorite sushi place in Jackson! Fun atmosphere and a really convenient location. They also have a lot of dishes that can’t be found at most Japanese restaurants.

The best sushi restaurant in town! Everything is fantastic here, with attentive staff (Jane, Lauren, Renzo, Austin, Millie, Ariel, Skylar) ! I believe they’re still the ONLY Japanese owned restaurant in the whole Jackson metro!

We were delightfully greeted when we arrived by the hostess for dinner at roughly 5:30p. We sat down, enjoyed amazing hot tea and placed our order. There are so many food options that it took us a second to place our order.
We ordered sushi and asked the waitress to ensure no sauces were placed on the rolls to ensure I didn’t have an allergic reaction to the mayo. When one of the rolls arrived with spicy mayo, I was hesitant to send it back; but our waitress suggested I allow them to “fix” it– I obliged. To my surprise, their “fix” was pushing the spicy mayo off and adding tempura and crab to the top of the rolls they’d previously sent to the table. I could still physically see the orange spicy mayo atop the rolls. There was no attempt to remake them or to remedy the issue. They simply hoped I wouldn’t notice.
Upon seeing it, I shared my sentiments with the waitress who then asked me “would you like them to remake it?” Of course I said no thanks, covered the bill, and decided then and there we won’t be returning.
It’s saddening given how excited I was to try this place.

Nice presentation, awesome customer service, very reasonably priced. Downfall is they don’t give you complimentary soup or salad like other sushi places. Our server asked if we’d like soup and salad so we said yes, little did we know that we’d be charged for it. Overall still a good experience, we’ll definitely be back.

This is the only “true” Japanese restaurant in the Jackson area (and the only Zagat-rated Japanese restaurant in town) started and run for 30 years by immigrants from Japan. The volcano roll is awesome.

We come here often, especially for the nigiri. Great, fresh fish, cool decor and atmosphere. All the wait staff are super friendly and experienced.

I want to give them 10 if possible. You can rarely find a sushi restaurant this good even in the largest cities such as NY and LA.

My daughter was visiting from Nashville and I was excited to bring her here after bragging about it. The food was great. The hour it took to arrive, not so much. Also, we were the second people seated as we arrived at 5pm. I was given some excuses about take out orders, but seeing 3 tables that arrived after us get served and leave, was very telling. One table was a family of 6! In the end i opted to leave, paying for the appetizers and drinks we got. The hostess and waitress apologized and rushed the 2 sushi dinners we ordered, to go and comped them. That was cool, but for me it was more about the experience and showing my daughter a great time at a restaurant I use to brag about. If i were asked who had the best sushi in Jackson, I’d still say Sakura Bana…but regrettably I’d have some caveats.
