If your looking for a place with Flavor & good prices. This place is wonderful. Somebody seated us promptly. I ordered my own custom Sushi. Was very good. Spicy crab & tuna with mango wrapped in seared salmon with ponzu sauce. Hibachi was cooked well with tender meat teriyaki sauce, soft flavorful rice. I’m shocked this place has 4.3 stars. I found the food service and choices wonderful. Sake is not the smoothest. I still enjoyed it. Everybody that i talk to was very friendly & nice. Makes it more of a family feel & warm welcome place to go. The food was hot & fresh. The sushi size portion was good size. Most places you dont get much in the center which leads to tasting mainly rice. If you read all this, i highly suggest stop reading & go try it out for yourself. I don’t typically review. I feel this place deserves to be noticed.

I’ve been a long-time patron of Sakura, but lately I feel like it’s a waste of money when there are so many delicious sushi restaurants in OKC (with cheaper prices). Supporting local businesses is important to me though, and I recognize that not everyone wants to leave Shawnee for food. When compared to only what’s available in Shawnee they’re easily one of the better choices! Service is usually great but can sometimes be lacking, and the menus or menu prices change quite frequently — along with portions for things like the Seaweed Salad.
The Seaweed Salad has been one of my ways of noting changes in price or staff, because sometimes it’s just seaweed and other times it’s served on a bed of lettuce or with cucumber. The portion was very large, with cucumber around 3-5 years ago but they’ve bounced around with how it’s made every few months lately. GREAT dish if you want the seaweed itself, otherwise it randomly leaves something to be desired.
Their hand rolls are FANTASTIC! I wish there were more options or a lobster hand roll but their shrimp tempura hand roll and futo maki hand roll are easily the best. The proportions of the hand rolls do change based on who’s in the kitchen as well, but the futo maki typically has better proportions as a hand roll than a traditional roll.
Hibachi is always a good option, even with how pricey it can be. Their scallops are top tier tasty! But everything offered for hibachi is delicious.

First time to eat here but it’s one of my daughter’s favorite spots to eat in Shawnee. I had the Shrimp Teriyaki and my daughter had the Steak Teriyaki. Both were delicious! The server was super friendly and the atmosphere is great. I definitely will be going back!

We have been eating at Sakura many times and while most of their food are very good choices. We mostly order their Benton Box Hibachi Salmon which is best, but on the other hand, their Pork Katsu ($18) is Terrible, it’s cut so thin that you could read a newspaper if it didn’t have the 85 to 90% Breadcrumbs covering the final product. I darn near broke a tooth on the Pork Katsu, it was so over cooked, while I haven’t tried the other Katsu Benton Box, I am sure it’s probably the same way. Sakura has very good Sushi, all of their Sushi, Tempura, and Hibachi meals are very tasty and I can highly recommend, just stay clear the Katsu Meals and you will have a very pleasant lunch or evening meal!

Wouldn’t recommend for vegan choices but I differently found vegetarian options and staff was very friendly and tried to accommodate best they could. Food was delicious and didn’t take long to get to the table. Big selection of items especially if you are a meat eater or just vegetarian.

So first off the sushi rolls we got were delicious. We got spicy cowboy and big mouth. Now we got hibachi however it was hibachi they made in the back not in front of you. We ordered Hibachi filet and chicken which came with soup salad veggies and fried rice. The fried rice was not fried it was still extremely sticky and tasted of steamed rice. The filet that my bf got was full of gristle so I do not believe that was an actual filet or a very low quality cut. We both asked ahead of time if we could pick the veggies we wanted we were told yes, however when they come it was just the mix of veggies.
They’re yum yum sauce has a taste of onion to it and I’m not sure why.
So to sum up the sushi was fantastic and I highly recommend however the hibachi was awful and I would never get it again if the hibachi chef isn’t cooking fresh directly in front of you.

Ive been going here for a few years, and just wanted to update that this place has the BEST sushi I’ve ever had, hands down. The food is always banging! Im basic so I always get the bagel roll or the mini-roll, but their other rolls I’ve tried (and their noodles) are all well prepared and taste good, especially for the price! Sometimes the wait can take a while, but I understand the preparation is different than most food. If its busy you’ll definitely be waiting a while, so bring some conversation starters.

The food tasted fresh. The rice was cooked adequately and the food tasted great. My eating partner also enjoyed their meal. The wait staff was cordial and helpful and eager to fill glasses.

The service was excellent, the food was amazing any questions I had the waitress had no issue answering. I will be back. The sushi is the best I’ve had in a while it’s hard to find good sushi spots out here.
The waitress was very kind and even suggested the shrimp and vegetable yaki soba and it was fantastic. I will recommend sakura to all my friends I am happy I came in today.
