I’ve been to Sakura four or five times since moving to Salem in February and it’s become one of (if not) my favorite restaurants in town. The sushi is fantastic and you really can’t go wrong with that. I forget which roll it is, but they have one that comes to you “on fire” and it’s absolutely delicious. I’ve tried various appetizers and some of their lunch bento boxes and have been pleased each time. If you enjoy sushi or Asian food it’s a great place to check out. Each time I’ve gone, I’ve been with other people and they’ve also enjoyed their experiences. (Important to note that I’m not the only one who likes it!).

I didn’t think I would ever find an authentic sushi restraunt in this area without having to drive an hour or more. Then Sakura opened up and my dreams came true! Now I can have top notch sushi anytime I want! The non sushi menu items are delicious as well!

Love it!! So sad they are closed now on Sunday’s. It was a great date night for us. Instead, we will have to take advantage of the Wednesday spicy tuna roll deal for under $4. Yum!

Have had Sushi at MANY locations and this restaurant is by far the best. We eat at this location on a regular basis and are always extremely satisfied. Thank you for having such a great tasting Sushi restaurant near us!

The bulgogi & ginger pork bento boxes were great! The fried rice tasted good but wasn’t really sticky enough for chopsticks. We also tried the “Kiss of Fire” roll, which was tasty and a lot of fun, since it’s flamed.

Listen people. I’ve been all over the country for sushi–CA, CO, AZ, WA, TX, LA, FL, MA, MD, NC, etc. This is central Illinois. And this place is outstanding! Better than Bloomington, Champaign, and St. Louis. On par with Happy Sushi in Springfield. One sushi chef, you’ll wait but it’s worth it. I’m in Salem, IL!

My daughter and I enjoyed your cuisine, but there was a mix-up when paying by debit card and when we checked our bank statements, she had been charged $40.00, and I had been charged $19.00, when in fact it should have been $19.00 total! I have tried to contact Salem Sakura Japanese Restaurant to get this cleared up and can never catch them open. I hate to post this, but feeling a little irritated.

So I order the beef teriyaki and some sushi to go. I get a call 15min in to my order I’ve left to go pick it up and I’m told that can not be got to go. When I asked why they said I don’t know you just can’t do that. So I’m telling all my friends about this stupidness and why was I not told when ordering. So go somewhere else they don’t want your business
