First impression? Spotless. Not “eh, it looks clean” clean.
Like… actually clean. Tables. Floors. Plates. Everything.
And as someone who works in healthcare, that instantly won me over.
Now let’s get to the good part… the FOOD.
Every single dish tasted freshly made.
Hot food = HOT.
Sushi = cool, delicate, perfect, pretty
Nothing tasted like it had been sitting around waiting for me.
And the plating?? Thoughtful. Intentional. Good enough for pics… tasty enough to forget your phone for a second. ➡️ ️
Service was just as good.
Friendly. Attentive. Refills on point. Plates cleared. Never rushed.
You feel taken care of here. Period.
(And yes—TIP WELL. They earn it.)
Real talk, foodie fam:
This Sake Sushi menu will have you wanting to order EVERYTHING.
But…don’t overdo it and waste food. That’s just disrespectful to chefs who actually care. Order smart. Enjoy every bite. Add more if you’re still hungry. Simple.
Come hungry
Order thoughtfully
Leave happy.
And don’t be surprised if you’re already thinking about your next visit before you even leave.
Tag someone you’re taking here
What should I order next time??
As a former sushi waiter myself, I understand how busy it can get, but a message to the actual manager/owner of this place: you need to do a better job managing. Your chefs were absolutely useless, slow, and incompetent. You need to either hire more waiters or get better time management skills to accommodate all of the customers you have because waiting 2.5 hours at a sushi restaurant and not even receiving any sushi related items is a disgrace. Your waiters were sitting new customers even though the customers that already sat down were still waiting over 50 minutes for their food.
Your sushi restaurant is going to be in jeopardy if you continue to fumble up these dinner rushes; if you want an example on how an actual proper sushi restaurant is run with high quality food, visit ITS SUSHI which is only 5 minutes away from this restaurant. The waiting time there was 3 hours, but at least they managed their chefs/waiters/customers appropriately.
MESSAGE TO FUTURE CUSTOMERS: look at the waiter/chef to customer ratio before choosing to sit down/putting yourself on the waitlist. If there are only 2 waiters and 3 chefs and the entire room is full of customers, you will NOT receive anything sushi related (nigiri/rolls) in your entire time here. They will also sti charge you full $40/person buffet price. Just bite the bullet and go to it’s sushi instead. Do you really want to pay $40/person just to eat chicken wings and French fries appetizers?
If there’s no other customers in the restaurant when you’re sitting down, then I hope they’ll actually serve you sushi. Let me know how it actually tastes.
This is a RED ALERT to everyone in the WESTPARK community. I’m talking about Blue Oaks near WP High, all the Fiddyment folks, Solaire folks, Woodcreek folks, and even everyone in Antelope! Sake’s fish quality is FANTASTIC!!! And the best part about it is – you drive by this restaurant everyday, sometimes several times a day – and you never would have assumed such greatness was right there. Right there!! Finger pointing: Next to Starbread y’all.
Let me introduce myself. I like to think of myself as a Sashimi elite. Not a snob because snobs are ignorant and narrow minded. A sashimi elite is someone who is so particular and so picky, that they have a hard time finding sushi restaurants to be able to eat at. Not to brag, but I have eaten at some of the finest omakases and kaisekis all across Asia from Japan to Taiwan, Korea and China. SAKE is definitely nowhere near that but…it’s still in the sushi restaurant conversation. Let’s just make that VERY clear. However, since they are an AYCE, All You Can Eat (which Roseville folks LOVE – bang4dabuck) and with their fish quality being superb; how can we NOT praise them for their excellence and for delivering an AYCE Sushi/Sashimi experience at such a high quality level?
For $40 per person with tax and tip — you’re out the door at a little above $50 per person. For all the omega 3 fatty acids, Vitamin B12, and Vitamin D and protein you can devour in 90 minutes? I envision myself as an Alaskan Brown Bear bulking up in a Salmon River before hibernating for the Winter. That’s the kind of relationship I have with Sashimi. Lol
A part of me didn’t want to write this post because I don’t ever want to wait in line at this restaurant. I need this place to succeed but I don’t want all of Roseville here either. Dilemma diemma. If the secret leaks, you guys will turn this place into another Mikuni at the Fountain and I don’t want it that hectic. Am i being too selfish? Yes, and btw, this place is so much better than Mikuni. Imo at least. Give it a try! You won’t be disappointed.
We’ve been now, maybe half a dozen times, and we’ll keep coming back! We’ve tried a few of the rolls and they’ve been good, but the majority of what we order is sashimi and nigiri. Both are phenomenal!
The sashimi is served beautifully on a bed of ice and has always been fresh. They have a broad selection of we’ll known fish options and a few that I’ve been unfamiliar with.
The nigiri is a perfect fish to rice ratio. It is *not* a huge wad of rice like some places serve which is a welcome change. They also offer scallop which I don’t see as often either.
Nice and simple atmosphere. The booths are large and spacious with higher backs which makes it feel like conversation is more private.
My only complaint is that service can get slow, especially when they’re busy. Appetizers and rolls seem to come out the fastest. Sashimi sometime after that, and the nigiri seems to always take the longest.
I highly recommend this place for a great sushi experience!
UPDATE:
It’s a few days before Christmas and we came by to find them busier than we’ve ever seen and their service was TOP NOTCH! Everything came out quickly and was delicious as usual. Absolutely our best visit yet!
I came here with my cousin and was so impressed! The service was impeccable—super friendly and fast. The sushi was fresh, high quality, and packed with amazing flavor. They offer all-you-can-eat for just $25.99 per person, which is such a steal, and I even left with a combo of three sushi rolls for $33 that was totally worth it. Between the quality, the generous portions, and the price, this place is an absolute gem. Highly recommend and I’ll definitely be back!
The restraunt was very clean and well put together.
My server Frank was the best. He helped me figure things out quickly and was so patient with me.
I couldn’t believe how kind the whole staff was.
I ordered a list of things. Sea weed salad, miso soup, various sashimi cuts and a roll.
The hamachi, eel, salmon belly and octopus were my favorite cuts.
I personally feel like the octopus and the eel were some of the better cuts I’ve had.
For this price bracket I’m ranking this place 10/10
I really enjoyed this place and I’ll definitely be telling people to come here.
The restaurant itself has a nice open layout with plenty of seating and good lighting, which made it feel bright and welcoming for lunch and probably for dinner. Service was friendly and quick, and the value for the quality is excellent.
Definitely a new go-to for sushi nights in Roseville!
