We’ve visited Sakana Sushi three times now and every visit has been consistently delicious. The fish quality is amazing; super fresh, clean flavors, and beautifully presented rolls. You can really tell they care about ingredients.
Service can take some time, so arrive with a bit of patience. The staff is friendly, but they get busy, and good sushi isn’t rushed. It’s worth the wait.
Pricing is very reasonable for the quality. We came back for happy hour and most rolls are discounted, which makes it easy to try a variety without spending too much.
Overall, this has quickly become one of our favorite sushi spots in Tampa. Fresh food, great value, and a happy hour that keeps us returning. Highly recommend

A group of us visited to celebrate Gasparilla Race Weekend with our friend, who is a frequent customer. Her constant praised raised our expectations to insane levels, and we were not disappointed!
We started off with the Edamame, with sea salt and sesame oil. Simple, but very well executed. These were seriously addictive and we were fortunate that there were 4 of us to split them. She also recommended the Angry Dragon, Po’ Boy and Spicy Salmon Rolls, all of which were exceptional. The star of the show however, was the Lobster Katsu Roll. This was an exceptional culinary experience, well worth the trip to Tampa to have it. Easily my favorite sushi roll of all time.
We also has the Duck Egg Roll, which was very good but “she wants the sauce”. It completes her and makes her feel luxurious.
Friendly service made the entire evening an absolute joy and we will happily return any time we have the opportunity.

One of our favorite places in all of Tampa. Menu is huge, tons of great special rolls, always fresh. Atmosphere is perfect for a nice date or groups to talk. And service is always the best- shootout to Jackie!

It’s an excellent sushi spot in South Tampa. They have creative chef creations along with all the classics. The barbecue squid appetizer was unique and tasty. The sushi were large pieces with lots of flavor. They have a nice wine and saki selection. They have friendly and personable service. If you are a sushi fan, you won’t be disappointed.

I really like this place, the sushi is very good and fresh. The prices are fine. There’s even a couple menu items I can get here that are cheaper than other places so that’s really nice and for the quality it makes it extra nice. My main concern though is the parking lot. It’s just small it shares its parking lot with another business and so there’s no parking sometimes. So I had to drive around the back and park in the grass and then walk around and then another time I was able to park in the front but being held the parking lot is so narrow I had to maneuver back-and-forth before I was able to even pull into the parking space so that would be my main complaint is it’s just hard to get in and out of this location and the restaurant itself is pretty nice. It’s dark inside. It’s got almost romantic ambience to it. There is even an outdoor little patio area and then there’s a little sushi bar area so you can have multiple dining options. I highly recommend this place due to the quality of the food and the reasonable prices but my main thing is the parking lot. It’s just so hard to get in and out of that I actually avoid going there because of it.

The place has its own atmosphere, the place is pretty clean, a good place, sometimes you need to wait in order to be seated. The people that attend you are very kind and you can ask for suggestions if you want to try new dishes.
The food here is very fresh-made so is tasty, have a lot of flavors. The entries were good, loved the calamari. Then the rolls were on another level, so good flavors and a really good variety. I will return for a new batch of rolls. A recommended place for diners.

Great local spot for sushi. The fish is always extremely fresh! If you come on a Friday or Saturday night expect to wait a little – but it’s worth it! They also have a wide array of other options for food – fried rice, lo mein, etc. I’d say it’s pretty casual in terms of the atmosphere. My boyfriend and I sat at the sushi bar and it was lovely. The service was good but not great- again because they were so busy! Regardless we will be back!

It’s been quite a while since I found a good sushi place. My boyfriend and I wanted some sushi and ended up here for dinner. I read a few review and I do agree their yellowtail belly/regular is delicious! Their fish and rice ratio is perfect. The sushi rice was a bit hard when we came by, but it’s our fault for coming late. The waitress was super friendly and check up on us often. It is on a pricy side, but it’s delicious. I also like the atmosphere. The parking is a bit tight and limited. There’s only one entrance in and out. Would come back again and see how consistent their sushi is, but highly recommended.

Edamame w sea salt and sesame oil added was a nice touch. Shrimp fried rice was good but I would have loved it if the wok was scorched to create more of a burnt taste. Jasmine tea was good. Spicy tuna with avocado minus the mango was spot on. But the icing on the experience was Devan?, our server, he was spot on. Will be back again. Good job Sakana!

Went there last Saturday and the dinner took forever to come to our table. Waiters were zooming by us and never once asked it if we wanted water. Just what else to stack upon the other items we were waiting for. I had to kindly tell them what items we can fill our stomach because if it’s not on our table in 10 minutes I will not order. Seemed like they only cared for delivery and UBER pickup up items. Food was the same taste as other sushi places but slightly overpriced due to location. After ordering few rolls my spouse and I were still hungry and we went for an extra dinner and preferred shawarma.
