Sakana gets 5-Stars every time we go. The Kyrin beer is always fast, cold and buy-one-get-one-free during Happy Hour. The sushi is always cold, fresh, and delicious. The service is excellent. The staff is friendly. Love sitting at the bar.

Love going here with friends for delicious, authentic food thats worth the price. Service is fast, the servers are attentive and accommodating and the chefs are fantastic. I’d been turned off of sushi before going here because of places like Fujiyama with fake tasting, mediocre sushi. The food here, sushi and otherwise, truly changed that for me. I cant get enough, truly!

A very disappointing $40 spent. I really wanted to like this place… but when you’re from out of town, and have had actual good hibachi before… this is SUPER mediocre!! I’ve had very good hibachi before out of state, and the flavors are really lacking here. This is not authentic tasting, whatsoever. The meat, rice, and noodles are all very plain. really bummed after the money spent!

Sakana is the reason we go to Fujiyama. Better service, better rolls. Last time at Sakana we asked for Japanese spring rolls only to get tempura sweet potato. Asked for Boston rolls and got California rolls. Service is terrible. Sushi is mid to miss. Should keep going a few miles for better options. They simply don’t care about the service, the food or you.

Service was slow, mediocre, no one bothered to refill our water glasses the whole time we were there, they did know when we asked about a certain item that was on their menu. We finally found it on their menu, no energy, our rolls took forever to get to us. The sushi may be good for the area, but a bit subpar if compared to costal areas. We will check out other places before returning for another try.

Great rolls at moderately good prices. Awesome drink selection. I’d recommend the sake mojito. This place isn’t Fujiyama (which I’ve also reviewed), but for a sushi place in the slums of Boise, they’ve got it going on!
