Sam Chen, owner of Sakana House, is, with his staff, celebrating of the restaurant’s third year in business. As Sam’s regular customers can tell you, “sakana” in Japanese means “fish.” And those customers, pardon the pun, definitely are hooked on the delectable Japanese and Chinese dishes found at Sakana House. Earlier this year not only did they expand the floor space to hold an additional 50 seats, they also increased convenience via technology – now hungry guests can use their I-Pad to order specific items from the all-you-can-eat offerings available. (A-la-carte and take-out service are also featured at Sakana House.) The popularity of his restaurant is pushed primarily on the word of loyal customers.

I travel from Bradford every month as this is my son’s go-to place for sushi. Their Salmon Pizza and fried rice are exceptional. Food is great, servers are good, they are quick and helpful. Their different types of Sushi are good. Its affordable and simple in ambience. Reservations 2 hours before. Overall great AYCE Sushi.

I’m a small Asian woman. I don’t usually eat much. So for me personally “all you can eat” options never worked. My boyfriend wanted to try. But was it worth the money? It’s hard to get yourself full up to 40$ just to break even. But past certain point you stop enjoying your food the way you normally do. Even though cheff and servers are doing good job. I don’t see myself coming back for “all you can eat” again. I’d rather just order 1-2 dishes and take left overs with me 🙂
But if you can eat good portions, like good Asian food, sushi and buffet – then this is place for you

I have been going to Sakana house since it opened, and I’ve had up and down experiences. The food is typically amazing, and I often do take out orders. I got take out tonight, and my experience was not great. The rolls are tiny and have very little fish, and I find that when I order the “free delivery” take out, the price at the door is always more than the price on the website (after tax). I got the sunshine roll, which has cooked salmon inside, and is supposed to have salmon on top. The salmon on top is pitiful. I’ve attached a photo. My experience has never been bad enough to warrant a complaint, but just the fact that the food was not great tonight, after feeling slightly scammed that the price was different at the door has led me here…

This location needs a better Snow plow company. Its is on the side of little small plaza with only parking spots available for the plaza. During the winter, the spots are extremely limited. This makes you not want to even go after driving in circles(making laps) waiting for someone to leave. Very frustrating.
Other than that, food and service is okay.

I didn’t like the service very much. The person who served us seemed very rushed for us to choose quickly and showed no friendliness at all.
The food was average.
The place was dark, and when I went there it was quite disorganized.

the place was nice a little bit of a language barrier where i could not understand the servers but good for the price and came out resistively quick based on the restaurant being busy
i would go back but allot of places in the area to try
parking is okay but the plaza does get busy as there is residential above

Dont come here food and service is not good! I ordered the raw sushi and the fish was definitely very old it was discoloured and tasted fishy, the tempura was soggy as well. Thats not why im leaving this review though, we were eating our dessert and our waiter kept coming by asking if we were done ordering. When we finally said yes they brought the bill and we paid we were finishing our dessert and talking and the waiter came over again to say they wanted to sweep the area and that we basically had to leave? The restaurant was full of customers, some who were there long before us but yet we were getting kicked out? Mind you were there for an hour and a half max. We didnt order too much since the food sucked and we tipped well just to be kicked out so they could “sweep”. Awful service awful food awful staff. The other Sakana house in barrie is WAAYY better.

Absolutely amazing food! I drove up from Bradford because I had a huge craving for sushi and really wanted all you can eat. This places exceeded my expectations. Great price for great quality food and lots of selections. Very friendly staff that are constantly cleaning and wearing proper masks. Had early dinner which was nice because we had time to eat with our 1.5 year old in the back room all to ourselves. Felt very safe and since we were early the service was super fast that we couldn’t keep up. Was worth the 30 minute drive, will be coming back again for sure!

This is normally one of our favorite spots for Sushi but the service there was incredibly poor at best. I understand that it is New Years Eve but the dine in service was real bad. We made reservations which was a bonus because they had people waiting but the wait for food primarily any actual sushi dish it took forever if we got it at all. It took an hour or more to get any sushi but in the end after more then 2 hours we still only received maybe a 1/4 of what we ordered. In the end we lost our patience and asked for the bill but told the staff I would not be paying for the full service. We left very dissatisfied with our experience. They need to make the call to close down dine in service so they can concentrate on take out. Even that they struggled with from complaints coming from patrons waiting. Don’t bother asking staff about the situation they just look at you and walk away. Time for a new tradition for New Years Eve.

I will never return to this location. Absolute abysmal service. How dare you serve Uber eats instead of YOUR DINING GUESTS WHO PAID FOR ALL YOU CAN EAT. like are you serious? We pay a fee to sit down, only to be told half the menu isn’t available because of Uber eats? I made this reservation 3 days ago.
The food is also cold and gross.
