I am in love with Sakae sushi. It’s so close to what you’ll find in Japan with the homestyle, simple, to-go sushi concept.
I ordered ahead and asked for a 12-piece mixed box and the woman on the phone confirmed it would be $21.
The sushi is simple and delicious. I loved every piece the inari, mackerel, tamago, it was all so light, tasty, fresh, and well made.
When I arrived, a sweet lady managing the window asked for my name, and she said it would be a few minutes, no problem! But when she brought my box she said $17, said the phone order taker told me $21 but the woman insisted $17. I thought one or the other made a mistake and didn’t count my pieces but then I get a call saying I was given the wrong box and they apologized; of course, I apologized too for grabbing the wrong one. SO I am just sharing this as they do take pride in customer service and want to make sure you get what you ordered, I was okay with a slightly smaller box but I’m glad they offered to resolve it!
A great place that should last another century at least!

Such a great ToGo Sushi place. Unique high quality flavors ordered by number of sushi prices and uniquely boxed and wrapped to go. I highly recommend. Pieces are large with succulent flavors in each bite among a choices. Togo only. Order by phone or in person. Quality 10/10. Flavors 10/10. Portion size 10/10.

I wish this place would consider opening until a little later because it’s so good. Been coming to this place since I was 14 and now I’m turning 24. This place has always been consistent and very friendly. I’m so glad this place stays open after COVID. Very traditional and most similar to what I had in Japan. One thing I wish they would do is to consider putting in maybe a single or two packets of soy sauce with the order. The rice is already good, I just personal preferred to have soy sauce with my sushi. 10000000/10

Healthy fresh sushi. It isn’t like the sushi where it’s filled with so many sauces and etc. it doesn’t explode flavor in your mouth but it’s pure freshness and high quality. The pieces are huge and you can definitely get full just eating 5 pieces. As another person mentioned the rice quality is amazing. I stored it in the fridge and the rice remained moist until the next time I ate it.

I love this place for at least 3 generations my family has been coming here. It makes me think of my grandmother as this was always a treat me and her would go and get just the two of us and share with no one else. It was like our place and being a family and seeing a family and speaking like family all my life I just love this place. I always want 16-20 pieces half and nori and inari.

This place has been around forever, and hopefully will continue to be around for many more years to come. No frills, no sit down dining, to go only. Cash only. Call ahead an order if you want to get in and out quickly otherwise you can be in for a long wait. Great bargain if you love sushi and don’t have money to throw around.

This place is exactly how everyone has described it. It’s incredible and affordable. The one thing I can attest to is how good the sushi is even after you’ve refrigerated it. Usually, the sushi rice would not be as good anymore once it’s been refrigerated. Not this sushi rice! It is incredible. It’s still soft and full of flavors. I just wish I lived closer to it! I’d go everyday!

I felt like I am in Japan. The surroundings like tree and architecture were so Japanese. I ordered 20 pieces mix which includes everything on their menu. Their sushi tastes very original and authentic. The sushi rice was next level. It has chewy and sticky texture which balanced well with other ingredients. I was glad that I ordered sushi box because I loved the aesthetic packaging and the color combination of mix sushi. Beautiful!
