A bayside destination restaurant featuring coastal cuisine, fine wine and local beer, sunset views, and live music at Point San Pablo Harbor in Richmond California. Sailing Goat is one part outdoor dining restaurant, one part bayside community that looks first to the waters around us for inspiration and nourishment. Our food reflects the creative spirit of seaside communities –American, Italian, French, and Spanish – as well as other fishing regions throughout the world. Relax on our outdoor patio next to the water, sipping a glass of wine or a cold beer, and enjoy the music and sunset views.

Awesome hidden gem tucked away in a cute little marina that I didn’t know existed. It’s a perfect afternoon getaway.
The food is delicious. Simple and unique menu with good options for people with different diets. Most of their best items just happen to be gluten free. Even the fish and chips, and they do the best fish n chips ever.
It’s a great place for brunch or an afternoon. Nice selection of beers and wines, live music in the afternoons.
It can get cold in the winter since it is all outside, but they have heatlamps and the seating area is covered. Today was a perfect day, low 60s, and the roof lets the light in and acts like a greenhouse so it kept it nice and warm. They have heatlamps for when it’s not so warm out.
Staff is sweet. Service can sometimes be slow but this is not really a place you want to be in a rush. The food is made fresh and can take some time to come out when it’s busy.
Only little glitch we had today was the chowder came out cold (pretty much room temp) but once I mentioned it, they took it back and brought us back a bowl of piping hot chowder. I think it was just sitting out while waiting for the fish to be ready. Not a big deal and they took care of it promptly and even made sure it we were happy with it.
The fish chowder is delicious.
The fish n chips are probably the best I have had in the bay area.
I went for the option to add a grilled cheese which was also really good – smoked cheddar on Acme batard toasted in a panini press.
Apple crumble was also so good. You wouldn’t even know the crust is gluten free.
Came here for brunch a few months ago with friends and we all loved everything we ordered. Their salads and appetizers are really good too.
Prices are reasonable for the quality and portions. Food is fresh and thoughtfully prepared.

A hidden gem in Richmond! I only had the Fish and Chips and it was the best I have ever had. The batter was thin but insanely crispy, so it was really the fish that I was eating. Talking about the fish, it was fresh, tender and flavourful, I highly recommend it!
I came on a weekday so the restaurant wasn’t that packed but like 50% filled, the server was friendly and attentive. The restaurant offers great view of sea, which is peaceful to look at.
The bathroom was clean and pretty spacious (and it is a shack), and I was delightedly surprised.
By the way, the restaurant is dog friendly, will definitely go again.

This place is truly a hidden gem in Richmond and in the Bay Area. I’ve heard about it years ago, but never came to explore this place and then this past weekend without checking to see if it was still open and functioning, I decided to pay a visit.
The road is narrow with blind sharp turns so drive slow and share the road. It feels like you’re lost at times, but keep going.
I had had lunch before coming here so I didn’t check out the restaurant, but the atmosphere felt nice and cozy.

We had such a great time at Sailing Goat! The music was on point, the vibe was relaxed and fun, and the whole place just felt welcoming. And the fish and chips? Absolutely delish—crispy, flavorful, and hit the spot.

As a gigging musician (The Real John Gary) you cannot beat this spot. Incredibly family-friendly and dog friendly. Best fish-n-chips in the bay. Always a friendly crowd and friendly staff. Oh, yea, and the view. Come out on Friday/Saturday/Sunday for great live music. Thanks for supporting local musicians!

This is such a funky, kitschy little area. It’s hard to get to on some seriously windy, narrow roads, but there are some spectacular views of the San Pablo Bay along the way. Once you descend into the harbor, you pass goat crossings and actual goats and then the road opens up into this weirdly adorable little marina with stunning views of the water, hills, and also of the dock, artsy homes, and random art installations.
The food at the restaurant is pretty good but a bit too pricey. The menu is also VERY limited. However, the staff are amazing, and the vibe and views really can’t be beat. To top it all off they have live music almost every night so, overall, this place is more than worth it, even if just for the novelty!!

My family and I enjoyed lunch at Sailing Goat. This is a very popular place so had a bit of a wait but worth it. Their fish and chips are the best. The whole area is interesting with a casual feel: the goats, Burning Man Installations, houseboats, very interesting shoreline, live music, dog and child friendly. My grandson had fun enjoying the very old work out bike and moto. Even the drive there is amazingly scenic. Best of all their food is worth the wait.Suggest. Fish and chips.

I like the location, the food was good but when it was time to pay apparently there was no way to get a paper receipt or see the actual charges on the electronic machine and we didn’t know that the tip had been charged already at 20% which is fine but the server requested more tip implying that the tip wasn’t charged. When we got to our car and did the math, we realized that the tip was charged. Sketchy service
