I should have made this review a long time ago. Saiko-i is one of our favorite restaurants in Boca Raton. It’s our go to place whenever We want Japanese cuisine. We go there frequently and the food is always well done and the service friendly. We mostly go there to have sushi and on some occasions the teppanyaki. Either way though we are always happy when we leave. It has beautiful decorations and the atmosphere is suitable for couples, family and business. We never go to the bar but they have one. There is also outside seating available. We always start with the lobster and shrimp wonton soup, the coco blossom soup and bang bang shrimp…Always. I think the wonton soup is the best. We would try different varieties of sushi rolls but we never go wrong. Looking forward to the next time we are there.

I’m a huge fan and loyal patron of the Boca location, so I was beyond excited when Plantation was chosen as the next location. The restaurant is absolutely stunning, beautiful outdoor seating and an elegant bar that immediately set the tone. The food, as always, is spectacular, and the happy hour menu is just perfect. While it took a little time for our server to reach us, once he did, his service was fantastic. The “Out of Control” roll is truly legendary. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience!

SAIKO Sushi in Boca offers a dependable mix of sushi and hibachi, delivering a fun, casual dining experience with consistently solid food. The sushi is fresh, cleanly prepared, and presented with care, and while it’s not trying to compete with ultra-high-end omakase spots, it’s reliably tasty and satisfying. The hibachi side brings the expected energy—lively chefs, generous portions, and a playful atmosphere that works well for groups or an easy night out. Service is friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe is relaxed without feeling sloppy. It’s the kind of place you go when you want a straightforward, enjoyable meal with options: quality rolls, hot hibachi plates, and a comfortable environment that makes it easy to come back.

1-star review: Disappointing changes to the Happy Hour menu at Saiko-i Sushi – used to be a great deal, now it’s a letdown
I used to love hitting up Saiko-i for happy hour because it felt like a solid value, especially on items like the salmon tacos and specialty rolls. Not anymore. They’ve clearly cut corners and jacked up prices while downgrading the quality, which makes the whole “happy hour” feel like a bait-and-switch.
Take the salmon tacos, for example. They used to serve two tacos loaded with nice, generous chunks of fresh salmon for just $6 – that was a steal and one of my go-to orders. Now? They’re charging $8 for two tacos, but instead of those hearty salmon chunks, you get some basic spicy white fish, tuna, or salmon that’s nowhere near as good or substantial. It’s like they swapped premium filling for something cheaper and less flavorful, then raised the price by 33%. That’s not an upgrade; that’s a downgrade disguised as inflation.
Then there’s the Rainbow Roll. It was already a highlight at the old happy hour price of $9, which made it a no-brainer compared to the regular menu. Now it’s $13 during happy hour – that’s only a measly $2 discount off the full price (which I believe is around $15 regular). For a “happy hour” special, that’s barely a perk. You’re basically paying almost regular price for something that’s supposed to be a deal.
Overall, the happy hour menu feels watered down and overpriced compared to what it used to be. The value that kept me coming back is gone, and I don’t see myself rushing back anytime soon. If you’re thinking of trying their happy hour, check the current prices first – you might be better off going elsewhere for better deals on quality sushi.
Sad to see a spot that had it right go downhill like this.

Happy hour daily from 1130-6 pm. Love to seat at the booths. Server Briana was friendly and professional. We had salmon jalapeño, crispy bak Choi, crispy calamari and for dessert friend banana and ice cream. Prices are very affordable. Check it out. Happy hour seven days at week.

We went for a birthday but we only get food from the menu. Food a little over priced. But the atmosphere is wonderful.

Such a wonderful experience!
The food was great and the atmosphere was lovely, but I especially want to highlight our waiter, Santiago. He was incredibly professional, attentive, kind, and truly elevated the entire experience.
Thank you for the exceptional service!

I recently dined at Saiko and had the pleasure of being served by Oak Jerin. From the moment we were seated, Oak provided us with the best service imaginable. Her attention to detail and genuine enthusiasm made our dining experience truly memorable.
Oak’s recommendations for both food and drinks were spot on. She has an impressive knowledge of the menu and guided us to some fantastic choices that we might have otherwise missed. Every dish was delicious and perfectly suited to our tastes, thanks to her expert guidance.

Meeting family and at first I was disappointed they didn’t sit at the hibachi table but then I met our server, Rachel!!! She was outgoing, funny, friendly, fast, simply excellent. I can’t say enough good things about her being in the service industry myself. I will definitely be back and if you are going to this restaurant, do yourself a favor and ask to be seated in Rachels section. Thank you Rachel for making a much needed night out even better. You are amazing!!!!

My party of four ate here on a Thursday for lunch. It wasn’t very busy, but we had reservations and were seated right away. Our drink order was taken while we looked at the menu. We placed a food order once our drinks were delivered. The service was exceptional and the food was fresh, very flavorful, and beautifully presented. It was very enjoyable to watch the food being prepared in front of us and the tricks and showmanship by the preparer was obvious that he took pride in his craft and presentation. We all enjoyed our meal, would recommend to others, and will be back!
