Nice little vietnamese restaurant in a plaza near Mission Gorge. The food is ok, small portions and the spring rolls are so tiny and kind of pricey. The server was nice.

My first time eating at this place, located in the Mission Gorge area of San Diego. The surrounding is always scenic and safe, and the people are friendly. The food is very savvy and culinary. Service was exceptional polite, creating an ambience environment, along with decors and sanitation, Saigon Star deserve 5 stars and a free trip to the moon and don’t come back.

While the service and atmosphere are fine, the food is lacking something. I paid 33 dollars for a sandwich and a side of orange chicken which I felt was over priced for what you get. The sandwhich felt very light on the amount of vegetables it had, usually banh mi is crunchy because of the roots or carrots. And the orange chicken was not crispy looked like regular chicken with orange marmalade added in top.

Be aware! I got food poisoning on February 28th, 2024, and had to have an ambulance pick me up from the restaurant.
Food tasted alright while I was eating it, but I could not finish my meal. Before I could even leave the resteraunt I was throwing up.
To top it off, this was happening right in front of their resteraunt, and they offered no help. Even the ambulance was disappointed in the lack of action from the people standing inside.
I should have known that there was something up when no one but me was there during lunchtime.

The pho was ok I’ve had better, the flavor went away quick so it was frustrating eating it. The shrimp rolls and chicken wings were really good especially with the peanut sauce.

The smell coming out of this place calls you in! It’s delightful! I was happy to see a pho place with good reviews right around the corner from my place. As soon as I had a chance I came to check it out. The location is super cute and configurable, the service is fast and the prices are fair. We ordered the classic spring rolls, orange chicken and pho. The pho was really good, good size, super hot and flavorful. The sprints didn’t have any herbs in them other than lettuce and the orange chicken was just ok.
I brought almost half of my pho home because they serve you pretty good portions and reheating it ay home made it even more tasty!

We ended up coming here on a Friday night because everywhere else was too busy. The atmosphere in here is kind of sad and the service is kind of weird and slow. The food is your standard Vietnamese pho restaurant food, nothing really spectacular about anything that we ordered. The fish sauce chicken wings were decent even though they were mostly breading.

Very yummy. Fried tofu was crispy and soft. Had a nice salty garlic flavor. My Beef combo pho was very filling. Lots of meat and plenty of noodles.

Awesome staff. They remember me and my family all the time, food is always the best.
Rare and well done steak pho is my absolute favorite, I do miss the hue style pho, they no longer serve it. Overall it’s worth coming here over and over again.

The pho broth wasn’t as rich as other reviews claimed and they served the boba tea in a small cup with too much ice. Felt like I drank it in two sips.
