Anyone visiting Heidelberg has to try it. I would honestly come back just to eat here — sightseeing would come second. Simply amazing.
We both really enjoyed the starter soup noodle!
The main platter was so good that even it’s a lot and we still finish it we both are amazed by how good they made the crispy duck! I personally also love their grilled pork ball (it give a hint of 烤猪肉干 flavour ), The Entrecôte(cut of beef slice) with fresh pepper leaf and the reis nudeln with the sauce!
I also requested to add a little more honey to my hot orange ginger tea and the owner are very generous to bring me the whole bottle of honey for me to add it myself thank you so much, appreciate it!! Would recommend to try this beverage if you’re looking for something warm and nice in the winter especially!
The best part, you can reserve a table in advance! Additionally, the restaurant is located near the main cathedral in the old town, so sitting outside, you can enjoy the spirit of the old town of Heidelberg.
I ordered a summer roll which was alright with the sauce, while the Pho soup was really good. They provided me with the lime and chili pepper on the side, to season it by myself, which was really thoughtful of them. (since I am a person who doesn’t like that much spicy food).
The waiters are really polite and fast with their service!
Overall, I would give it a 4.3 score!
Edit: we visited second time and learned that the menu also has a dessert. So don’t forget to ask for dessert everything was really delicious.
We started with some tasty summer rolls. The shrimp ones were a hit, with fresh mint and delicious sauces. The chicken version was decent but lacked a bit of excitement. Moving on to the mains: the chicken pho was alright, though it leaned a bit too much towards a beefy taste for my liking. But the curries stole the show! Both the green and red curries were fantastic. The veggies were perfectly cooked, and that red curry? Spicy perfection. The shrimp were OK, though I might skip them next time and stick with the veggie curry.
Despite the service being a bit slow, the food totally made up for it. Can’t wait to come back for more!
The Vietnamese coffee was good, it wasn’t overly sweet. My friend and I liked it enough that we each had 2 cups.
I had the sautéed beef pho which was flavorful. I couldn’t taste the traditional spices in the pho likely due to the sautéed beef. The Bo La Lot was so tasty and I highly recommend it. The papaya salad was fresh but bland, I couldn’t taste any fish sauce.
They have menus in German and English, the staff spoke Vietnamese, German, and I assume English.
