Great place to eat Vietnamese food and it has awesome service. The chef is Vietnamese so rest assured it’s got authentic food. The pork is absolutely delicious and it’s got that creamy buttery taste so you can bet it’s seared with great butter. The mango sticky rice is hot which is a great choice for winter. Thai tea tastes very refreshing. I absolutely love the vegetable salad in the lemongrass pork plate. It’s seasoned with awesome sauce. I usually don’t like salads but this one is absolutely awesome and I finished it all. The owner is a great person, he is very friendly and he makes sure every customer is well taken care of. Definitely going to be visiting here often whenever I get a chance to visit Chicago.

During one of the coldest evenings I’ve ever experienced in Chicago, Saigon Sister’s insightful and heartwarming cuisine brought me back to the joys of Vietnam’s expansive, accessible, and culture-defining foodways. Chef Mary’s drive to simultaneously bring back her homeland’s authentic flavors while pushing the boundaries of what defines Vietnamese cuisine is provocative yet foundational . Rest assured that the whole fish branzino dish was summarily dealt with down to the last bit of crunchy fishbone! Lovely atmosphere and a great big shout out to the even lovelier staff.

We were lucky to get a seat when we came in spontaneously on a Saturday night! One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The food and drinks were amazing. We sat at the bar and witnessed the first class cleanliness and efficiency of the prep team. The owner explained that the durian ice cream is made in house and I think it was the best possible introduction to durian – if you haven’t tried it before I highly recommend it! The Saigon Sisters are currently in Vietnam sourcing ingredients, so you can bet on fresh, authentic and unique dishes from this gem of Vietnamese cuisine.

Had a wonderful first experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with plenty of great vegetarian options, which we really appreciated. The customer service was excellent and very welcoming, and we also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who made us feel truly at home.
Almost 30% gratuity was already included in the bill, which is a noticeable addition, but given the level of service we received, we would have left it anyway. Overall, a fantastic dining experience, and we’re definitely looking forward to coming back.

This review is solely my own experience so I still encourage people to try out this restaurant.

I ordered papaya salad (pork, shrimp, and beef jerky) – the pork didn’t taste as fresh or complimentary to the papaya salad. I later puked in the morning because my stomach didn’t sit well with the papaya.
The pad Thai was good
The lemongrass pork chop with rice and a side salad – the salad was amazing, the sunny side egg had broken when it was served (I didn’t mind too much) but the yolk once eaten was sticking to my teeth like hard candy. The pork chop was precut which was much appreciated, but it was hard to chew.

I do encourage everyone to support and try out the store because everyone’s experience is different. Loved the vibe and the owner was super helpful in sitting is right away although RSVP is a must!

First stop for 2026 Chicago restaurant week did not disappoint! My husband and I ordered option 1&2 (North & South Viet Nam) tasting menu. Ample portions busting with flavor and creativity. Service was impressive. We’ll definitely go back.

Loved so much!! Ordered the vegetable pho and my boyfriend had the Holy Thai Basil. It was some of the best pho I’ve ever had! The tofu in it was perfect and the broth was so flavorful. The service was also great! And the vibes too:-) will definitely go back!

My girlfriend and I ordered the sweet and spicy chicken, Banh Xeo, and Bún bò Hue. All 3 dishes were fantastic, and the service was among the best we’ve experienced anywhere in this city. I could not recommend Saigon Sisters enough!

Warning: There’s a 20% service charge automatically added to the bill, but it’s not mentioned on the menu.

The food itself is excellent. I ordered the beef rib pho, and it was amazing. The beef rib was huge and nicely roasted. It could use a bit more seasoning, but dipping it in the fish sauce or broth balances it perfectly. The broth looks light but tastes rich and flavorful, with that nice depth from the beef bone. There were also small chunks of beef in the soup, which was a nice touch.

The crab fried rice was decent, and the spring rolls were a bit more “American-style” in flavor (the pork was on the saltier side), but the fresh lettuce and sauce brought it all together nicely.

The main downside was the surprise service charge. I completely understand why restaurants include service fees, but it would be much better if this was clearly stated on the menu or mentioned by the server ahead of time. Transparency goes a long way in making the dining experience feel elevated.

Overall, great food and solid service. I will certainly be back, but just for the takeout. Just be aware of the extra 20% charge when planning your meal.
