Had the bao, thought it was going to be warm, but was cold. Other than that everything else tasted great.
Start with the positives. Food was quick, fried banana was good, coffee very strong and delicious. Cloud cake was also very good (Chinese sponge cake basically)
The not so good, pork banh mi, the pork was inedible. Thin cuts of pork belly but the edges were rubbery and hard to chew through like chewing rubber bands. (The sauce they use is very good though nice char su flavor.)
The beef also fairly tough. Expected better quality paying around $12 a banh mi. Sadly not my first experience having this quality. Will probably seek other options next time I’m in lowell.
It has a really clean, contemporary, vibrant interior.
This was my first time having a bahn mi sandwich, and I loved it. I got the BBQ pork one. The seasoned meat combined with the selection of veggies makes the sandwich delicious. The best way I can describe it was: new and fresh.
The pork bun was also fantastic. It was super soft and fluffy.
I also got a taro smoothie with boba, which I also really enjoyed.
I would definitely recommend trying out this place!
I ordered the roasted pork bahn mi and my girlfriend the shredded pork bahn mi. The lady taking our order said both were the best choices. She was very pleasant. A different woman brought us our sandwiches with a big smile. There’s a lot of care a positivity in the service here. The ladies are also hustling behind the counter.
The sandwiches themselves were excellent. Everything about the sandwich was on par for what you’d expect. The roasted pork I believe was the most expensive at $14, but worth it.
Next time I would ask for extra mayo.
There’s a bakery next door which is really convenient if you want something sweet after your meal. The interior is really well decorated. It’s picturesque, perfect for social media photo ops. Someone knew what they were doing.
Around 11am, we migrated over to the sandwich side for an early lunch. I got the BBQ Pork Bahn Mi, which hit the spot. The bread was the perfect texture and the fillings were the classic combination of flavors.
I would definitely come back!
Spring rolls are huge and the best with peanut sauce , and the banh mis are really good too.
If going for dessert, 100% recommend the layered strawberry cake (it’s not too sweet and so soft), and the steamed layer cake with pandan and mung bean paste (Banh Da Lon) was good too . The sesame balls were actually really good but make sure to ask them to heat it up.
