Interesting variation from any Vietnamese vermicelli dish I’ve ever had. The meat in this case, was chicken in a coconut curry sauce. At first I thought it would not work but I’m really happy to have tried it.
We also had the chicken Phô, which as expected was a bit bland, but ok once the jalapeños were added.

As someone from the Bay Area, this is hands down one of the best pho spots I’ve ever tried. The broth was incredibly hot and packed with rich flavor. My $30 dinner bill was very affordable for the quality. Everything was super delicious, and I’ll definitely be back! The staff were helpful, and the service was impressively quick.

stopped by here on a very cold day with my friend after going out, and I would say that the service were amazing and attentive – however, the food we had ordered was a little bit disappointing for me. i had ordered pho but the soup wasn’t really flavored in the way im used to/enjoy as it had a pretty sweet taste attached to it. my friend had ordered bun bo hue and it wasn’t too bad but it also wasnt the best either. maybe it was an off day/it was later on in the evening. if you are in the area and youre craving pho/noodle soup still stop by and check them out as they also have a pretty extensive menu (lots of vegetarian options) and yall might find your experience differently!

Ordered well done beef pho and Saigon noodles (curry taste). Didn’t like the food at all. They don’t even give you cilantro. Just basil. (Hard to find MSG free pho places and all of their broths have MSG BTW, I asked.) Saigon noodles were too soft. Disappointed.

How did you do !
Being allergic to most things is hard to eat out however, I pay close attention to the menu and I ask questions to make sure that I don’t receive an item that I can’t eat or that will make me sick or pass away here at this establishment. There is no concern for your allergic reactions. After speaking with the manager, a young girl who would not disclose her name after being told a simple story would’ve been suffice, but instead she made excuses after excuses and when I spoke with her about it, she said we have science posted. I told her that I asked her over the phone what was in the rice and she never listed a pineapple as one of themwhich is a highly allergic item and should be noted as it is not common to come in the dish that was ordered. Ordering a basic Thai fried rice the ingredients usually don’t include fruit only vegetables and meat. To Call In only want a simple sorry for a meal that I paid $21 for that I can’t eat then refusing to give me her name made me pretty pissed off and now I want everyone to know that they do not disclose all of the ingredients and to be honest the place smelled like mold and I probably should’ve walked out. However I was starving now I’m left being stuck in a emergency room with an allergic reaction becausethe employee failed to disclose the ingredients correctly. I will be contacting the health department. I didn’t ask for my money back in case all of you were wondering and I ended up giving the rest of the food to a homeless person I hope they enjoy the pineapples because they’re deadly to me. Thanks for being inconsiderate of your customers allergies and passing the blame on me even though you said sorry that you thought that I only said something well you should do better than just think you’re serving people food !!

Update: 10.28.23 Tofu lemongrass rice plate was delicious, except for the rice, which tasted like fish! We are vegan, and while we understand this restaurant prepares all foods in one kitchen, shared utensils should not be used, especially between steamed rice and fish. This has never happened before, and we hope it won’t happen again. Otherwise, the rice noodles & veggies in our tofu veggie pho were undercooked quite significantly, so we microwaved the soup in a large bowl until properly cooked when we got home. We have eaten at Saigon Cafe since they opened, but the last few years are more hit & miss wrt quality. We still really like this place & want to support local businesses too…we hope they’ll fine tune the kitchen for quality control, but we’ll definitely give them another chance as we want to give the benefit of the doubt this time.

Edit 8.18.23 My veggie pho was great, my husband’s rice plate with tofu & veggies was quite undercooked. We do like veggies stir fried, but still crisp, but cabbage, broccoli, carrots were still raw, not well heated, so not sure why cook would undercook it like that. Rice was perfectly cooked. Salad on the side was fresh with a large slice of cucumber & we love the ginger dressing. Server was attentive, helpful, & polite. We didn’t complain to him about the uncooked veggies, we’ve been coming to this place since they opened many years ago.

Edit 4/19/19: Far too much salt being used, especially in the pho. They’ve always been heavy on salt, but it’s worse for the past few months to the point that we can’t eat here anymore. Requesting easy on the salt results in bland food, no underlying spices or flavor. We all drink water for hours after eating there, hadn’t really tuned into this until recently after not having eaten at Saigon Cafe for several weeks. Lowered rating to 3 stars for using so much salt instead of spices.

Delicious Viet food, friendly service. Reasonably priced. Quick take out available. Point system to earn free food is quite generous. Good portions. Free street parking.

The bún bò huê (#24 in special soups!) was absolutely amazing. It was packed with flavor, the meat was tender, the veggies were fresh, and the large WAS a large. We weren’t able to finish it and our incredibly nice server got us to-go bowls. I loved how nice everyone was, incredibly accommodating, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend coming here!!

Where to start?! This looks and feels like a family run restaurant, the staff are prompt, friendly and greet you warmly. Service is extremely quick, it takes approximately 10 mins from ordering to getting your food (huge bolw of pho for 10$!!!). The food is good and wholesome, I love their pho with prawns and veggies as well as their soft shrimp rolls. They also are able to accommodate different diets and are happy to swap rice for salad for those of us wjo have to watch what we eat. Their green chicken curry is a good find too. They also offer a free scoop of ice cream which is refreshing and doesn’t really look like a scoop at all, more like a glass full of yumness the size of my hand. What a great place to eat.
