Reviews
The highlight of Sahota Live Grill is definitely the food. Everything we tried was bursting with flavor and clearly made with fresh ingredients and authentic spices. The sizzling non veg appetisers were incredibly juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the vegetarian options were just as impressive. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented.
One thing that really stood out was the variety. There’s something for everyone, whether you love classic Punjabi dishes, flavorful curries, or perfectly grilled appetizers. The portions are generous, and the quality is consistently excellent. The naan was soft and fresh, the curries were rich and satisfying, and the appetizers were so good that we kept ordering more.
The service was another highlight of our visit. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making sure we had a great experience. They were quick to help, happy to recommend dishes, and always checked in to make sure everything was perfect. It’s the kind of service that makes you feel valued as a customer.
The restaurant itself is also very clean and well maintained, and the atmosphere makes it a place you want to stay and enjoy your time rather than rush through your meal. You can tell the team behind Sahota Live Grill puts real effort into both the food and the overall dining experience.
Overall, Sahota Live Grill easily deserves five stars. Amazing food, excellent service, great atmosphere, and a unique live grill experience make it one of the best dining spots in Abbotsford. I will definitely be coming back again and highly recommend it to anyone who loves flavorful, high-quality food and a great restaurant experience.
To begin with the positives, the restaurant had a nice atmosphere, and the female staff members we interacted with were courteous and respectful. That said, a good vibe alone cannot make up for the lack of care and consistency we experienced throughout the meal.
Service felt careless and uneven. We ordered cranberry juice, but what was served tasted noticeably watered down. When we asked for a replacement, the second glass tasted fine—which only made us question why a diluted drink was served to begin with.
The experience worsened with the Sunrise Bellini ordered by my sister. It arrived unfrozen and looked nothing like a Bellini. When this was pointed out, the response was a casual, “We’ll freeze it.” The drink was taken away and didn’t come back until after we had already finished eating, making it completely pointless and disappointing.
As for the food, we ordered paneer korma and paneer methi malai, both at a medium spice level. Unfortunately, both dishes were extremely mild, bland, and lacked depth or richness. Paying $20–25 per dish for food with such basic, forgettable flavor honestly feels upsetting. If the food is going to be this plain, it should not be priced as premium.
The naan was also a letdown. The first serving was dry and rubbery, as though it had been sitting out. Later in the meal, we ordered more naan and received soft, fresh bread—how naan is supposed to be. This made it very clear that the first batch was not freshly prepared.
Overall, while the environment was nice and the staff polite, we left feeling ignored and undervalued. It felt like we were given whatever was already made rather than fresh food and properly prepared drinks. This restaurant seems highly overrated, and I strongly suggest reading multiple reviews before deciding to dine here.
unfortunately this visit showed a lack of attention, effort, and quality. For these reasons, I would not recommend Sahota Grills.
The taste didn’t quite meet expectations. The dish had a slight refined oil smell.
Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience overall, despite a pleasant atmosphere.
To start on a positive note, the ambience/atmosphere was nice, and the female staff members were polite and courteous, which we did appreciate. However, politeness alone doesn’t make up for the many issues we faced.
The customer service itself felt unattentive and inconsistent. We ordered cranberry juice, and what arrived was clearly diluted with water. After requesting a replacement, they did bring another one, which tasted significantly better—raising the question of why a diluted drink was served to begin with.
Things went further downhill with the Sunrise Bellini. It was served non-frozen and didn’t resemble a Bellini at all. When I pointed this out, the response was a casual “oh, we’ll freeze it.” The drink was taken away and only returned after we had finished our main course, which completely ruined the experience.
For food, we ordered malai paneer and paneer korma, both at a medium spice level. Unfortunately, both dishes were extremely bland, basic, and lacking flavor, falling far below expectations.
The naan was another major disappointment. The first batch was chewy and dry, as if it had been sitting out for a while. When we ordered more naan during the meal, it arrived fresh, soft, and exactly how naan should be—which strongly suggested that we were initially served old or leftover naan.
Overall, despite the good atmosphere and polite staff, we felt undervalued as customers. It genuinely seemed like we were being served whatever was already prepared instead of fresh food and drinks. The experience lacked care, consistency, and attention to detail, and for that reason, I would not recommend this place.
The manager (he seemed like one) was nice and friendly, very attentive to guest and ensures that good service was provided. Great customer service!
I do not like to make assumptions but it looks like chicken breast isn’t the only cut of chicken they’ve been using, which only looks to me like a way to cut cost. Unfortunately I had to throw my entire order of it away in worry there will be more pieces like that and it’s disheartening.
Everyone makes mistake and things can fall through the cracks but this could have made someone choke.
I will not be ordering again from here except for desserts which still are one of my favourites
Edit: After thinking long and hard I reduced my 3 star rating to a 2 star rating. I don’t wish to be malicious in any way shape or form but given how potentially serious and false advertised this situation is, it seems fair to me. Chicken breast has no bones in this shape inside it, or at all, as a former chef knowing kitchen etiquette well this can only mean either thigh or other parts were used for cheaper cuts. Being a consumer this just doesn’t look great especially with the premium prices being charged. It is a shame because the food was quite moist and minus that I have always given positive feedback.
