What a hidden gem! Doesn’t look like much from the outside but don’t let that fool you! This is genuine Portuguese food. The dining room is behind the bar area so don’t stop there. Walk through to the back and you are in a beautiful dining room with table cloths and napkins. Friendly staff and great service. I had steak on a rock- delicious! My mother had the grilled cod special. She loved it! (Be careful, it does have bones). The waitress mentioned that the owner wants to sell and if no one buys the restaurant within 6 months, it will be converted to an apartment and sold as that. Get there while you can! It may not be around much longer!

Accidentally ate in the bar (streetside) instead of the dining room (around the back), but glad I did! An amazing restaurant hidden away in a local neighborhood.
Waitress was exceptionally helpful, and the bar was quaint and cozy, a very nice local feel.
Had a snazzy pineapple soda that’s apparently unique to the Portuguese/Spain region. Snacked on a tasty bread with plenty of butter whilst waiting for the entree.
Ordered the Portuguese steak, which was prepared perfectly, and portioned generously.
Finished off with a very tasty flan and espresso, perfectly complimented.
Will definitely go again and recommend.

Absolutely love this place for their steak on a rock dish. The dining area is comfortable, clean and the staff are pleasant and tentative. I loved this place the first time I went there about 12 years ago and still can say that my favorite dish is still delicious

To star to end waitressing was extremely poor!
It look like she had no experience, never ask how we doing, took a while to come to our table, no bread or olives, overall I’m very disappointed with service. Food was ok a 3 start, desert chocolate mousse definitely not home made, bica as ok.

I lived in Portugal for 2 years, and this food is as real as it gets! So good and large portions. It tasted just like I was back in Porto. Next time I’m in the area I’ll definitely stop here again

Enjoyed steak on the rock again last night at Sagres Restaurant in Naugatuck, CT – was excellent as usual. A few friends and I go for steak there usually 3- 4 times a year. Obviously we all enjoy it. Paired with a carafe of house red wine, also very good. Well go again, and again, I hope, for a long time.

A Portuguese friend of mine brought me here. Great for that Portuguese small bar local vibe. Drinks are reasonably priced and Expresso had me up all night(first time having it), which I’m assuming means it’s good lol.

Very very very good food, when I get take out you get a really big plate of food. No joke the plate is so big that the food can feed 3 people. The price is really good for all that food. Please go to sagres restaurant and enjoy there really good food.
