Sage was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was top notch. We tried the hummus and the falafel wrap – both items were delicious made with fresh ingredients. For dessert we tried the baklava with a warm cup of chai (a special item only available occasionally) and it was just what we needed on a cold wintry day!!! My favorite dessert however was the chocolate walnut cake. It was rich and incredible a hands down must try!! This place is a 10/10 we will def be back! Thanks Sage!!

Truly incredible food! We got the eggplant dish & the green one. Everything was so delicious but also nuanced, flavorful, fragrant & perfectly spiced – including our teas & the hot sauce. So impressed with this spot – wish I could eat here everyday. Our server was also super warm, kind & fun. This place rules.

The service is good, the ambience decent. We tried a variety of dishes, and maybe this is just because I’m Persian, but I think that a home cook could make meals as delicious for a lower price. It was fine food, but it wasn’t anything unique.

What a lovely family owned restaurant! I loved the atmosphere, the dim lighting and spread out seating, which made us feel very comfortable. Lakshmi was an incredible host, attentive and very friendly. Needless to say the food was spectacular, not too heavy with plenty of options. As a vegan, I loved the added sides of tofu and tempe for some protein. Will definitely be back again soon 🙂

I used to go to Sage all the time as a kid. I am so glad Sage has moved to Durham, where I now live. The food, service, and atmosphere have not changed one bit. I remember loving the creamy dill dressing as a kid, and now they even serve (and sell by the bottle!) a vegan version with tofu. I got the osh and an order of saka. Both were perfect. The osh brings back so many memories. The saffron rice is also just as good as I remember it!

Wow yum, Sage is so delicious and healthy and they are so kind and pleasant too! I loved them in Chapel Hill and it’s so nice to have them around again. I’m a fan of the Persian stews with a salad and mmmm their creamy dill dressing. Please go often or get takeout and keep them afloat. Their location doesn’t give them much visibility so they rely on word of mouth and we need more good vegetarian places in Durham.

The food was amazing!!! So much flavor and so thoughtfully prepared. You can tell the people here really care about the food they make. The customer service was perfect and our server was so sweet and helpful. Can’t wait to go back!

We had a really enjoyable meal at Sage Vegetarian Restaurant. I had the Green with envy. It was very fresh and also comforting. My friend let me try their Bud-m-joon and I will definitely order that dish next time since the warm spices were delicious. They have good options for gluten free diners. The interior was cozy. It may be a good idea to call ahead, just in case. We arrived when they opened and they had many patrons seated upon our departure.

This new location for Sage has such potential. It’s beautiful and welcoming, but still feels like the wonderful restaurant it was before. It was only the soft open, but the meals were refined and delicious. Thanks to Lakshmi for attentive service and a lovely experience!

Our lunch group visited Sage Restaurant, which recently moved here from Chapel Hill, where it used to be around the corner from the Chelsea Theater. A few folks were skeptical about an all-vegetarian menu, but everyone agreed it was excellent. Sharing dishes turned out to be the perfect approach, letting us sample a wide range of flavors. And the owner was incredibly fun and playful, which made the experience even better.
