This place is a bit hit or miss. Our server wasn’t very attentive, though the server at the table next to us was outstanding. The steak was really good, the salmon was phenomenal, but the gnocchi mac and cheese was downright awful. When I tried to order the cookie and ice cream, our server told me the cookies were sold out, which turned out not to be true. We were also charged for the view, even though it was dark and there wasn’t much of one. That said, the way this restaurant crafts its fancy drinks is unforgettable. This would easily be a five-star experience if the service had been better.

My Aunt and I came here to enjoy our last evening in Lake Tahoe. We got to watch the sunset and the view was amazing ‼️‼️The food was great too I had the sea bass. They also made an amazing Spanish Coffee. Would highly recommend and would definitely dine there again.

My wife & I have been dining at the Sage room for many years. All the way back when the Sage room was downstairs & the hotel was Harvey’s. With that said we were very impressed with the general manager Frank Greco. He is outstanding & the Sage room definitely hired the right man for the job. His card says create the extraordinary & that is what Frank does. He made every effort to accommodate us for dining on a night when the Sage room was very busy with large groups & couples. I noticed Frank going to every table engaging in polite conversation to see if anyone needed anything & if they were happy with the experience. I then noticed Frank jumping in to help his staff when needed. He filled water glasses, removed dishes from a table, when a waiter was very busy he assigned another person quickly to jump in & take orders to avoid wait time for that table. This man took ownership & pride in what he was doing. A manager like this is a team leader that truly does lead by example. His professional approach & effort takes a good restaurant & makes it great. Frank definitely knows how to provide a upscale dining experience. Great job Frank Greco & great job Sage room for hiring Frank. We will be back in two weeks to dine at the Sage room again. The food is excellent & the view is breathtaking no question about that. However to have the service match the food & the view is a step up from other options in Tahoe. The Sage room is a must go to place!

Manager Frank Greco and his team offer exceptional hospitality at their stunning restaurant. I’ve been in the hospitality/ hotel industry for over 30 years, and know excellence when I experience it. And we experienced just that the other night for dinner at Sage. Our waiters, Jericho and Anthony, along side their manager Frank, offer a dining experience that is truly from another era – with a commitment to genuine care and authentic service. This service made our dining experience absolutely special.
Our meal was delicious- everyone raved about their entrees…one in our group claimed the rib eye was the best he’s ever had. The sea bass was flawless…and the table-side bananas foster’s flavor was rivaled only by the showmanship.
Add to all of this…a view that is one of the best on the planet! We sat overlooking Lake Tahoe as the sun set over the mountains- truly stunning. My sister and her husband, are locals, and had never been to Sage. They now have a new favorite restaurant in town!!
All in all, dinner at Sage is a dining experience NOT to be missed!!!

We’ve been here before, but tonight we went for Christmas dinner I had in my mind, but I was going to have and then when we got there, they handed us a Christmas menu New York steak with Gorgonzola cheese celery soup with cheese and sourdough on top was amazing. I mean it was just too many good things to say about it. It ended with puff pastries.

We went to the Sage Room for their Bananas Foster and superb view of Lake Tahoe. It did not disappoint on ANY element of the experience!! The view was everything you could hope for, and could be enjoyed from every table, though ours was the best with a corner window. The service was 5 star with friendly staff that continued to be attentive to any need we might have. I’m a big water drinker, and they didn’t let my glass get an inch down before refilling it!
We started with cocktails as we watched the sun move toward the horizon. My husband ordered the sea bass, I had the salmon, and we ordered a side of asparagus. Delicious food with large servings!
As the sun was setting, we enjoyed the table side preparation of Bananas Foster for two. We were married here almost 40 years ago, and it was my first experience with this dessert, and the reason we chose this venue for dinner. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful experience! If your wallet can take the hit, it is well worth it!

The view of the lake is what makes this a good place to eat. But the prices are rather high for the quality. Rib Eye steaks were huge. Caps were good. Filet Mignon ordered medium looked medium rare but some parts were rather tough. The black pepper corn sauce it came in was good though. French Onion soup was excellent. The Banana Foster made at the table was good and huge. The waiter kept urging us to order 2 for the table but one was enough for 4. Service was a little bit slow at first but picked up as the evening went along. Wine list is huge and has some reasonably priced ones. Lots of seating most with good views.

The chef & team did a phenomenal job at accommodating our friends extremely strict dietary restrictions. I would definitely recommend experiencing this restaurant with a table next to the windows.
Not a single complaint from any one of us. We truly enjoyed it. Can believe we’ve been coming up to Nevada state line all these years and not once coming here. I look forward to my next visit.

The Sage room is the best streak house in Tahoe and one of the best restaurants overall. Not only is the food amazing, the service is next level. We had a late reservation and showed up 40 minutes early with hungry kids. The manager Frank took direct care of us and got us seated right away. It was an amazing start to a great evening. And don’t miss the views,. probably the best restaurant view in all of Tahoe.
