Combining homegrown with homemade, our menu features regional favorites that are fresh & healthy (and taste great too). We use vegetables & herbs from our on-site organic gardens, along with harvests from local farmers. We’re probably best known for our specialty sandwiches on homemade artisan breads, along with our seasonal salads and soups. Local wines and craft beers enliven & enhance a dining experience unique to the Bluegrass. Our daily specials & signature desserts combine with the finest Kentucky bourbons and brews, making us a perfect stop along the trail. Located on the site of Wilson’s original garden center, the building’s horticultural bones inspire the natural environment of our cafe.

Lunch spot for salads & sandwiches made with house-grown produce set in a retail plant nursery.

This place is amazing, comfortable and very friendly. If only we had one in Louisville, I would definitely be a regular customer. Great staff and amazing food! I ordered Chai Tea for my drink and its was great. I had a whole Cheese Pleaser sandwich that I couldn’t finish, it was very good as well. I also had… Lol, (it was my first meal of the day I was hungry) I had The Jennifer salad and fresh fruit. Everything I ordered was delicious and I will definitely stop by if ever in this part of town.

Thanks for everything Sage!

I cannot recommend this cafe enough! I was only in Frankfort for 2 days for work and I still ate here twice. I had the turkey, fig, & arugula sandwich with Butternut squash soup on my first visit and the Spencer panini on my second. Both meals were delicious and presented beautifully. I loved the decor and atmosphere of the cafe and appreciated that they use locally grown veggies and herbs. The staff are also friendly and attentive, even when the restaurant gets busy. I can’t wait to return!

The Spencer panini was absolutely delicious! and the turkey Rachel was also very good.

We didn’t try any of the sweets but they were on display and I’m sure they taste as good as they look.

It’s a very cute cafe that many people seem to enjoy.

Love this place. The plant nursery next door is top notch as well.

The burger was really good, the tomato basil soup is great. The cakes are awesome.

I do think they should offer the sandwiches toasted. I didn’t think to ask but mine was on untoasted bread and it would have been better toasted.

A beautiful experience – Thankyou.
Fabulous espresso based coffee, healthy and fresh avo eggs and toast, a real delight and change from the general selection of food available.
Gorgeous service staff.
Cakes literally so good we had to take a piece home (& it was only breakfast time!).
Very thoughtful interior – even down to the bathrooms. It felt welcoming, homely, rustic modern.
Just all in all the lovliest eatery I have been to in Kentucky.
See you again soon.

We had a lovely brunch at Sage Garden Cafe. We parked near the greenhouse and walked up a small hill. Brunch lasted till noon. We ordered at the counter. They promptly brought our food out. Service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was quaint. I got the cranberry chicken salad sandwich and my husband got the French toast. Absolutely amazing! I can’t wait to go back. It tasted so good! Definitely a new favorite for us.

This was a lovely little stop! It’s such a cute restaurant with a very friendly staff! We really enjoyed our sandwiches and the side dishes too. We got a reuben and the hot brown panini. The Reuben was not huge and heavy like most reubens, it had a little different flare to it, but it was delicious! And the hot brown panini was a fun spin on the famous dish.
We loved the atmosphere and that the food felt a little healthier after such heavy foods we found on our bourbon trail travels.
It will go on our visit again list for sure!!

First time coming on a nice afternoon and everything was amazing. From the service, to the atmosphere, and definitely to the incredible food. Deviled eggs are such a simple food yet somehow this place managed to make it beyond that. The Mel’s Garden Burger was delicious, as was the regular burger according to my friend. The aesthetic of the glassware was also super cute! The sweet tea was really good, and the water was refreshing. The food came out fast which was great! We got the Bourbon Banana Pudding, and wow…. it came out warm and it was divine. The flavors were good and it was so moist and fresh tasting. Thank you to the incredible workers who made this experience fantastic, they were kind and made this all so pleasant.

I love everything about this place! If you love organic, all natural, delicious food, to be surrounded by a beautiful atmosphere and wonderful people, then you will love this place! The food is fantastic! Personally, I loved the Cole Slaw, which is vinegar based, so not for everyone, but she told me when I ordered, so I wasn’t surprised. I found it to be very fresh, and I love vinegar, so it was great. I want to learn how to make the bread I had because it’s the best bread ever.
Afterward, we really enjoyed walking through the greenhouse and store. We plan on going back when it’s warm out so we can sit outside. It was an overall great experience that I can’t wait to return for. Thank you to you all!

We were looking forward to going here as we had driven past a number of times. The service was friendly enough, but unfortunately the food was not up to par. We had the quiche and savory crepes and they were both cold when they came out, sling with the side of potatoes. My only guess is that the food sat too long before being brought out. The savory crepes was a very uninviting looking dish and the sause on top was too much. A cold ham and cheese crepe with cold sauce, was a horrible combination. The quiche being cold was also horrible to eat.
