We had a groupon voucher and.made à reservation mentioning it. Upon our arrival we’ve been seated in the bar area and have been given their special groupon menu. Dana, our waitress was phenomenal, very friendly and professional. Food was awesome, delicious and.in large portions for us. We will come back for sure.

Three of us ate here and it was pleasant and clean. I had a Cod sandwich that was delicious. My wife had a NY Strip that she said was excellent. Her sister had the roasted chicken that she said was good. We had Boston Cream Pie and Flourless Chocolate Cake for dessert. Not a busy night.

We got a groupon and decided to give them a try. First, they have a special menu for groupon users that is thei cheapest items. The service was marginal and the food was less than marginal. Fish and chips was so so. The fish was undercooked, there were parts of raw fish. Calamari is clearly from restaurant depot and not made at the restaurant. All in all very disappointing.

Husband and I enjoyed a date night out at Sage and Salt. Our waiter, Joel was fantastic…friendly and made menu suggestions. As someone who enjoys an alcohol-free life, I appreciated that he brought my NA Athletic Brewing Beer out in the can and provided a glass. We started with the Ahi Tuna appetizer which was good. For dinner, I enjoyed the Fish & Chips and my husband had the BBQ Burger. We both agreed the fries were average.

Food Menu has great options, large drink menu, and they offer (I believe) 4 non-alcoholic beers as well as a Mocktail menu.

Overall, we had a nice night out and left satisfied!

My husband and I drove down to CT from NH and found this gem on Groupon. They asked if we had a reservation, which we did not, but they sat/served us anyway. When we got the menu it did say that reservations were required but they made zero fuss about it. The food was fantastic and the service was superior. First, we shared the seared tuna app (still talking about it!), then I had the french onion soup and my husband had the crab and corn chowder, for the entrée I had the caprese pasta with grilled chicken and he had the shrimp scampi. No room for dessert but the menu looked delicious as well! Thank you Sage & Salt for a superb meal and experience.

I put in reservations for Valentines day . I requested the fireplace setting . Walked in and was told the table wasn’t ready . No problem . I don’t know if the gentleman was the manager or just running the house . The hostess and him had a conversation. He said, well just put them there . The atmosphere wasn’t anything like depicted online . Service was extremely slow . Food was mediocre, at best . Ended the night with the wrong Bill . Looked forward to this night for 2 weeks . It was just all wrong the minute we pulled the door, and walked in . $200 , for a solemn ride home, on what was suppose to be, a fantastic night ….

We went in here with a group for dinner on a Sunday night and really enjoyed it! The ahi tuna appetizer, French onion soup, crispy Brussels sprouts, crispy chicken sandwich, bread pudding & sage chicken were delicious! Would definitely come back for great atmosphere, service and food.

April 2023 – This month’s wine dinner had patrons sit outside in the covered outdoor dining room with warm temps in the air. The Italian wines featured were given a description by the host with each course. All were paired well with the food. Always like steel tank chardonnays. Loved the lamb chop with rosemary demi-glaze.

The January 2023 wine course dinner was so appealing we had to partake even though we were there in December. It was the first menu where every course, five out of five, looked delicious. Seafood bisque, Stuffed clams oreganato with bacon, Tortellini Bolognese with shaved parmesan and arugula, Surf & Turf Beef Medallion and Grilled Shrimp Bernaise with garlic mashed, and a chocolate chip bread pudding with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. Every dish was spectacular. Only one thing: The tortellini had no seasoning even if it merely wasn’t cooked in salted water. The best course: the beef medallion that was a spectacular cut of meat in terms of flavor and tenderness served with one shrimp on top. Carving the beef a few times with the shrimp, I liked them both together. Our favorite wine: an Albariño from the highest altitudes in Spain, “Terras Gaudio” label. The espresso martini on the rocks with dessert was very flavorful and a fine accompaniment. A great value.

The December five course dinner was enjoyable. Food included wine pairings with crab stuffed mushrooms, blackened scallops, duck confit, lasagna and a mint chocolate chip cream puff.

4.8 Another fine five course dinner here in October 2022 featuring Italian wine pairing . We liked our seating area much better than our first wine dinner here which was small and brightly lit. Patrons had the option of placing an order for any of the wines tried along with cheese and crackers before the meal.

It’s surprising to me it’s been so long since we’ve dined at Saltwater Grille in Litchfield because their food is incredible. Covid probably added to the gap in time, so we were happy to finally book a reservation for their monthly wine dinner this November. This month’s five course menu sounded perfect:

Butternut Squash Bisque with crab & leeks; Boston Bibb lettuce with chicken, walnuts and apple; Duck Confit Wellington with fig glaze; Bourbon BBQ braised short ribs on Yukon gold mashed with crispy Brussel sprouts and a mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich for dessert.

Everything delivered in terms of flavor and Chef skills. My favorite was the short ribs, but each dish was prepared well. The proper pacing of each course steadily fills patrons up. I was hoping the dessert would be a mini ice cream sandwich, but no, it was full size with thick fresh baked cookies.

Of course an accompanying wine comes with each serving. Starting with a Prosecco toast and ending with a Port cocktail, two whites were paired with the first two courses, and two reds with the third and fourth. A red wine person, for once I preferred the whites – a Pinot Grigio and a Chardonnay – both for their smoothness. The Pinot Noir and Zinfandel were noteworthy. At the end of the meal a list of the wines showcased in the dinner is given to patrons with bottle prices at a nearby liquor store sponsoring the wines.

The wine poured throughout the meal are tasting pours not whole glasses. Clientele joining us in the smaller well lit back room varied from seniors to two women with a well-behaved baby and toddler to a bigger table for the wine rep and his guests. New to the Grille’s wine dinner, we learned we could ask for a top off of the wine being sampled by the circulating server.

A nice experience. If you’d like to give it a try, go to their website and sign up for their email notifications. Each month is a new menu. We look forward to revisiting their regular menu on our next visit for a couple of entrées we have to enjoy again. The bar seemed to be the most lively place to roost.

Really delicious food. Duck bacon wrapped scallops, fish and chips and spinach & artichoke crusted salmon. The service was poor due to a novice learning, but they comped us a drink, as a result.

My food was good, the appetizer was great, my moms medium burger was very rare.
BUT the only reason I’m leaving a review is because we waited 2 hours before getting our food (that was cold) and when we finished and requested the check, the waitress didn’t return for 30 minutes… the people sitting beside us left after waiting for over an hour for their food. Don’t go if you have plans after

The food was ok and the atmosphere is not as good as when it was the Saltwater Grill. The staff were all sweet but someone else was given our bill which was lower than their own bill. So no one got in trouble and out of the Christmas Spirit, we just paid for the higher bill. Unfortunately, it was an overall disappointment.
