This restaurant is my husband’s and my go to spot for Japanese food, and it never disappoints! The ambiance makes you feel like you’re in Japan, cozy, warm, and inviting.

Our absolute favorite is the chirashi bowl, so fresh and delicious. We always eat it wrapped in nori (seaweed), which makes it even better. The shrimp tempura udon is another must: light and flavorful broth, chewy noodles, and perfectly fried shrimp that are fresh and a great size. Honestly, everything here is amazing! you really can’t go wrong.

The service is excellent, very attentive and friendly. It does get busy on weekends, so I recommend calling ahead for a reservation. Perfect spot for a date night or a family dinner if you’re looking for something truly authentic.

Returning to Sagami after several years of being busy with so many sushi restaurants where I live. The prices at Sagami have changed a little, but for me, the quality remains the same. It’s still the same dishes I loved before; now that I’m older, the flavors of the food bring back so many memories. It’s truly a restaurant that makes me feel happy after finishing my meal and leaving.

First time going to Sagami. Went on a Thursday evening, didn’t expect to see so many packed tables.

Food: Mostly great
Best thing we got was the chirashi bowl with lots of fatty and tasty sashimi over rice — 5/5

Agedashi tofu was very good, with the tofu fully absorbed in the dashi based soy sauce. The tofu was lightly fried, giving it an airy texture — 5/5

Vegetable tempuras were not good. The tempura coating was not airy at all and instead very thick to chew through and was overall lacking flavor or seasoning — 1/5

Special Note on Service:
My mother and I (Asians) clearly felt the waitress treated us differently from how she treated the other patrons in the restaurant. We felt mostly dismissed and greeted very differently than how the other patrons were enthusiastically served.

All I was looking from the service was just some fairness. Maybe it’s because other patrons were old customers, maybe the waitress was having a bad day. But we couldn’t help but felt treated differently due to preconceived notions of being Asian. I would hesitate to go back just because of how unpleasant the experience was.

Everyone who worked there was very friendly and helpful with the menu. They have a great variety of foods and will definitely like to go back to try again. All the dishes felt delicately made. The tofu appetizer was my favorite of everything i tried.

One of my favorite places to visit when I’m in town. This restaurant has been here for a very long time and the quality of the food is excellent. Always fresh and always tasty. Service is very nice and very kind regardless of this being your first time or if you’re a regular.
It is in the middle of nowhere but check out this fantastic Japanese Restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

Sagami is a must visit for anyone who loves authentic Japanese food. The chirashi bowl is outstanding with beautifully arranged fish that tastes incredibly fresh and clean. The individual sushi pieces are equally amazing with perfectly seasoned rice and expertly sliced fish that melts in your mouth. The staff is warm and attentive and the cozy classic atmosphere makes every meal feel special.

Wanted to try this place for while. Finally did it. The Tofu app was suggested by many reviews and was fantastic. Chirashi was good too. The Turo was favorite. Its BYOB with cute okd school Japanese vibes.

Came here for my birthday dinner and had an absolutely lovely evening! I’ve been wanting to come here for a while and the wait didn’t disappoint. We ordered the pork gyoza and the spicy salmon with crispy rice for appetizers, both delicious. For sushi, we ordered a salmon avocado roll, a spicy salmon roll, a tuna scallion roll, and salmon nigiri. The quality of the fish was absolutely incredible, fresh and melt in your mouth. The service was top notch, our waitress was beyond kind and so cheerful. Definitely don’t miss the green tea ice cream, super flavorful!

Expensive, but quality. The sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth fresh and the Nasu Shigiyaki was delicious.

The vegetable tempura was better than average but I’ve had much better. The coating was a bit thick for my taste… but we still ate it all.

Sagami has long been the standard by which I judge other Japanese restaurants. It decor is dark wood and low ceilings. And it is often packed with happy clients who provide that “buzz” in many successful places.
