I can’t even say they are deserving of a star. This was in fact, the worst dining experience of my life! I have never in my life experienced such disrespect and condescending attitudes from individuals ever.

We decided tonight to do hibachi with our neighbors. We had a party of 9 consisting of 4 adults and 5 well behaved children. The staff was annoyed that we didn’t have a reservation although from the looks of it, we weren’t in need of one, when there was only one other table being served. We shrugged it off and attempted to order with their not so friendly and easily agitated waitress after we were seated. Little did we know that a fiasco was in store.

When ordering a sushi appetizer: My neighbor attempted to order their 9 piece sushi appetizer. He asked if he could have tuna and salmon and was scolded because apparently you don’t get to choose your appetizer directly, it’s assorted! The bad attitude continued and the experience continued to spiral downwards when the waitress was told that two children were going to split a child’s meal. She very loudly scolded, “That if they are to split a meal, there’s a $6 sharing charge. If you want, read the menu, it’s in here (as she handed back the menu to my neighbor).”

Finally finished ordering, we shook our heads as the waitress walked away asking ourselves, if she had had a rough day. Little did we know that the assault would continue when the waitress realized we were to use two Groupons on the order, which according to their Groupon rules, parties of 6 can use two Groupons. She stormed back to the table to tell us that we could not use two Groupons. That there were “new rules” and they were no longer honoring the two groupons per six people as stated in the Groupon. At that point, we were asking for the manager who she gladly summoned.

Along comes a man with an earring that dangled from his left ear who held a sign in his hand of what their new policy was. We explained it’s more than you changing your Groupon policy. It was the complete disrespect of a party of people who walked in to dine at your establishment. He explained how this is what the boss wants. When asked of his boss’s contact information, he replied, “Why would I have that?” The answer to the question is simple, you work for him! You should have his contact information.

We pointed out that the grill in front of us was dirty and that his establishment wasn’t looking like it was welcoming our business. We explained how we were locals in the community and that is not service you provide to any customer who would most likely become your frequent customers/ clientele. He didn’t seem to be phased.

He reiterated to us that they had new policies about the Groupons. I told him that I would contact Groupon and let them know, he encouraged us to do it right now. He stated, “Go ahead, you call them right now. I do as the boss tells me.”

Regardless of what their policy changes may or may not have been, I will be contacting Groupon. The bigger picture is the distasteful service they chose to provide. No one should be scolding for requesting an appetizer exactly the way they want it. No menu should have been handed back in an attempt to shame a person for not having read their “sharing fee.” You honor your Groupons the way you intended and the next time around you change your policies.

It’s a Sunday night, you’re empty, you think you would want the business but instead you choose to let $200 walk out the door. I was embarrassed to have brought my neighbors to the establishment after having had such a wonderful dining experience with them the first time round. I was made to feel the fool when I know in fact I was not. So, I’m making it my business to let all the locals in Massapequa Park, Amityville, Massapequa, and the surrounding areas to not dine here at all. The attitude is just not worth it.

The only saga about this place is how dirty everything is. From the plates with hundreds of fingerprints to the disgusting food on the floor and even the dirty plastic mats on the table, it seems that nothing is ever cleaned. We had to ask for the table to be cleaned before the food even arrived. The choice of Sushi and Sashimi is very limited. The ambiance looks like a Chinese extravaganza; nothing like a Japanese restaurant should look like. The owners must have tried to recreate the lounge-chic of a sushi place but did not even get close to it. The food is extremely overpriced for the taste or to compare to the direct competitor on the other side of the road : Ginza. To summarize: unclean restaurant with passable food and a horrible ambiance.

Should be negative stars. Had to leave before the food came out. Me and the Mrs are now across the street enjoying great food and service at ginza. We got a flyer in the mail for half off sushi and when we got there they had told us that that offer no longer is valid. After going back and forth with the migrants who dont try the slightest to learn the native tongue here in America they finally brought out the half off sushi menu. The half off sushi menu was not half off. It was about 10 percent off of the original menu price. Were not sticklers for money or cheap so we didnt mention it and ordered it anyway. The waitress on serval occasions took just one of our orders and sped away wich was verry odd being that we were literaly the only customers in the restaurant. After all of the miscommunication we finally got our drinks. Each beer that we tried on tap was flat and disgusting. After sending back three different beers i started looking up reviews and found all sorts of terrible things about this place. Thats when we decided to get the hell out of there. The strangest part was that the manager or what ever he was didnt seemed phased as this was an everyday occurrence. Go somewhere else. Glad we left because id probably have food poisoning if we didnt.

Not worth the money, food is not good and i didn’t appreciate my food being cooked on a dirty grill and the chicken and shrimp was over cooked. Also, when they brought our bill there was a big 18% Gratuity stamped on the receipt in Red…No where on the menu or on the receipt did it say anything about gratuity being added. I don’t have a problem tipping but they did not deserve a $33.00 tip… I will never eat there again… A waste of money and time.

I really don’t understand the negative reviews. We have been there 5 or 6 times, and we have never encountered any of the problems people here are claiming to have had. The food is great, the portions are big, the staff is friendly…I just don’t get it. Give the place a try…don’t listen to the negative Nancy’s. People just like to complain.

This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. The staff was rude and offensive. The food was okay but everything else was well below subpar. I was disgusted with the way they treat their customers.
