Saffron Thai is a fast-casual eatery serving comforting Thai food with fresh ingredients and some distinctively healthier options.

THE FOOD
Healthy Fried Rice (with Shrimp): It uses organic red rice instead of white rice, stir-fried with plenty of vegetables. It was warm and tasty.

SERVICE & ATMOSPHERE
• The Team: The cashier was welcoming and attentive. I appreciated seeing them actively cleaning and tidying up the store during slower periods.

• The Vibe: The interior is bright with open seating.

• Outdoor Seating: There is a nice area right outside the entrance to relax and people-watch while you eat.

A great place to pick up a quick, fresh bite of Thai food for lunch or dinner!

Not good!

I’ve lived in Mission Hills for over 10 years and this place has been around for quite some time, but the food has become bland and the prices have skyrocketed per the small portions. I no longer find enjoyment coming here due to two things mentioned.

I hope this place the best, bet they should really think about their 4 star rating as an indicator. $20 for the portion pictured.

Always outstanding always delivers great food and value for money!!

They simply make the best fresh and authentic Thai food that I have had outside of Thailand.

My “go-to” dish is always Drunken Spicy noodles with shrimp and it never disappoints!

Highly recommended – bring your friends!

I couldn’t leave a review on Uber Eats but I used to order from here all the time. I decided since its been a while to order and get the shrimp salad rolls and the Cambodian salad. The salad was great! Fresh and tasty. The salad rolls not so much. The shrimp was way overcooked and one of my shrimps had black stuff on it. I couldn’t even finish the last roll. They get 3 stars because the veggies in the salad roll still tasted fine and the salad was good but the shrimp was awful.

I have no idea what the food is but it’s definitely not Thai food. The pad thai had a tomato-based sauce. It was nothing like pad thai. The eggrolls were barely warm and mushy. They had been sitting around a while. It’s mediocre food at high prices.

Ordered the Vietnamese noodles, it was okay as a big portioned meal. Felt like something was missing. Big chunks of chicken that didn’t complement the noodle well. Dry. The cups of sauce served with the carry-out box tasted alright. I definitely want to try something different next visit.
Parking sucks.

This did not taste like Thai food. I ordered the Drunken Noodles… Tasted like crushed red chili oil and a few yucky bites of funky chicken. The egg roll was ok, but the old frying oil flavor dominated the chicken eggroll. No thanks, won’t go back unless they want to buy my meal for me. I wish I had stopped eating it and asked for my money back. There are more authentic Thai places cheeper than this place through out San Diego. No wonder I waited 10 years to try this place.

Mediocre thai food.

Chicken satay was extremely bland, would skip.
Drunken Noodles were a little better, but sort of strange (almost like a mala spice)

On the plus side, large menu and lots of healthy options like chicken breast.

Visited Saffron on a recommendation from my San Diego host; it did not disappoint. The Thai cashew stir fry was delicious as was the Cambodian salad. Clean, fresh, friendly. I’ll be back.

Not authentic Thai food. Spicy noodle was salty and not spicy just oily, yellow curry was lacking flavor. Pad Thai noodles taste like ketchup.I will not be returning.
