Absolutely delicious food. Popular with takeout. Cook was really considerate and sweet. Appreciated his attentive and kind hosting. On the expensive side but you don’t have to pay for rice added on and there’s lots of food and it’s perfectly done. Got tiki masala as a celebration and it was just as delicious as you’d hope a celebration would be.

Saffron Spice is a wonderful place to go for Indochinese food as well as Goan cuisine. Both of those cuisines aren’t very well represented in this area, so when I learned Saffron Spice has those dishes, I was very interested in visiting. The space is spartan, but I ordered to go and they aren’t allowing in person dining currently. I ordered the Chicken 65, Gobi Manchurian, Chicken Schezwan, and Chicken Xacuti Curry. Everything I had was delicious. Each dish had a combination of spices that felt familiar but definitely different. I really loved the gobi Manchurian with it’s stir fried cauliflower and tasty mix of peppers and spices. I also really enjoyed the Chicken 65. The Chicken Schezwan was also great and was really menacing looking with it’s deep red maroon sauce. It looked like something that would knock your socks of with heat, but the spices were tasty and much more subdued than the color would suggest. Finally, the xacuti curry was the Goan curry that had a very nice flavor as well. I hope to visit again soon and recommend them wholeheartedly.

Super bad, like very very bad. I never ever thought Indian food could be described as BLEND. We ordered 5 items and the only flavor you can taste from the whole meal is spicy, from the watery butter chicken! Unbelievable

Excellent place! My wife and I wanted to have a nice evening out and thankfully came across this gem hidden off of Rainier. Rather small dining area with just a few tables and a counter with stools. Service was minimal but made sure we had everything we needed. We got the Chicken Xacuti Curry and another curry I can’t remember the name of, and they were both absolutely amazing. I also ordered a mango lassi which was a good balance of sweet and sour. Our order was brought out quickly and they made sure we had what we needed. Highly recommended!

Very good southern (Goan) Indian food. Simple, hole-in-the-wall dining space with excellent service and friendly staff. Tasty mint spice and tamarind sauce. Samosas had a nice thin and crunchy skin. The Naan was lightly flavored with a crispy bottom. Savory and spicy lamb curry. The house specialty chicken curry had great flavors, but the white chicken breast was on the very dry, overly chunky, and hard side; would recommend shredded white chicken or dark thighs. Definitely a great Indian food spot for the neighborhood. They also have food trucks with (changing) daily lunch specials during the weekday in SLU and surrounding areas.

Some of the best lamb vindaloo I’ve ever had! And the chicken lollipops were really good.. kind of like an inverted chicken wing! Ask for Joseph as he will probably be wearing some type of hockey gear while cooking 🙂

We ordered takeout last night, and not only was the food so bad that neither of us could finish it, I found bones in my butter chicken. The restaurant is refusing to give a refund because they don’t use bones. This only makes it more concerning to me whatever it is that I found in my dish.

The samosas were undercooked and the noodles were plain bland. The wrap was totally unwrapped and had fallen apart before I opened it. I used to like their food truck – not sure what happened!
