Excellent restaurant with a great ambience and a stylish bar area. The food was awesome—we tried the tandoori chicken and ghee roast chicken, both were very nice and full of flavor. The malai broccoli was surprisingly good and a must try. Cocktails were fantastic as well. Highly recommended!

A Hidden Gem for Indian Cuisine in Ashburn, VA

Saffron India in Ashburn, VA, truly delivered a chef’s kiss experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was friendly and attentive, the ambiance was relaxing, and the food—absolutely outstanding. I drove 1.5 hours for my birthday lunch after a day at the spa, and it was well worth the trip.

The standout dishes were the lamb chops, garlic naan, and the crispy spinach and spicy shrimp—all 10/10.

I also took home the Chicken 65 and Tiger Prawn Shrimp, both of which were just as delicious. Be mindful that they close at 2:30 pm for preparation before dinner service, so plan accordingly.
I left with enough food to last two days, and with plenty of parking in the shopping plaza, this spot is a must-try for any food lover in the area. Highly recommend!

We visited this restaurant after long time since we were told management changed. We ordered an appetizer and butter chicken and paneer tikka. Both were very sour and very tamarind taste. Seriously, for the amount they charge, this is very low quality food. I would not recommend this restaurant if you are looking for any tasty food. Naan and rice was good. but I would not visit again.

This restaurant has become one of my favorites in the Ashburn area. I have eaten there several times, and each meal has been outstanding. I love the atmosphere – calm, relaxing. The food is superb, especially the lamb shank. Service is great. The manager, Mahi, does a great job. I intend to come back many times.

I had an outstanding experience. The food was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and cooked with great skill. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and presented with care. The chef’s talent really shines through — from the balance of flavors to the quality of ingredients. It’s truly a pleasure to dine somewhere where the chef takes so much pride in their craft. I will definitely be coming back!

Met my friends for lunch at Saffron. My first time at this place and I was impressed. It’s a cute restaurant, with friendly staff. Service is quick and efficient. We visited on a Tuesday afternoon, not many people around. I understand it is quite busy on the weekend.
My friends ordered a Samosa to start and they enjoyed it. I got the grilled ginger (adrak) lamb chops and a plain naan. My friends ordered the Veg Thali (she substituted the paneer masala for Baigan Bharta) and Chettinad Chicken. The Thali is quite generous. Lots of little bowls with various vegetables and dals, and it included some rice and Kheer.
The lamb chops were great. Very tender and juicy and well marinated.
I would be very happy to eat again out here. Two thumbs up!!

This buffet is one of the worst I’ve ever been to. Despite the higher price, the food was subpar. The staff was equally rude and unfriendly. We had about 10 people in our group, and none of us enjoyed the buffet. Please avoid wasting your time and money here.

We ordered Paneer Tikka Masala, which is usually completely different, but this time it was a big disappointment. We do not recommend the new clay pot — it really doesn’t work. We’ve been eating at Saffron Indian Cuisine for a long time, but the taste is definitely not the same anymore.

The Paneer Tikka Masala was sour to taste, the paneer wasn’t even grilled, and the Dal Makhani was just average. Chicken may still be good, but overall the taste has changed a lot.

It now feels more like an Andhra-style preparation which means they specialize in andhra speciality not the original saffron anymore , not the classic Saffron flavor we loved.

Highly disappointed.

This is not a place to order vegetarian dishes. Had tried this place many years ago and was disappointed then and tried again now and still the same disappointment. We ordered Paneer Makhani medium spice but the dish tasted more like thick tomato sauce gravy with paneer pieces and very spicy. Gobhi Manchurian was soggy. Overpriced entrees with low quality. Probably not going there again. Sorry to write a bad review but I just am so disappointed that I could holdback.
