I have never before had a bad experience at the King City Safeway bakery. I decided to get a cake at the last minute for a gathering so I didn’t order a cake. I went to the store and they had a German chocolate cake in their bakery case. I found someone to help me. They put it in a carrier. I was very, very surprised when I looked at the sticker he put on it. It was $28 for a two layer round cake. The last time I bought a round two layer cake they were around any where from $15 to $20. I thought that it must be because of it being a German Chocolate cake with the coconut and fudge frosting. I saw other cakes in the refrigerator for around $15. When we cut into it, the cake was dry and crumbly and the frosting started falling off the cake after we cut into it. It tasted awful. No body finished their piece. Maybe the cake had sat in the case for a long time. I was very disappointed and embarrassed to have served it.
