I recently stayed at OceanCliff Hotel in Newport and had a lovely experience overall. The ocean views are absolutely stunning and the property itself is beautiful, especially if you enjoy peaceful coastal scenery. The location along Ocean Drive makes it feel like a true getaway while still being close to downtown Newport.

The staff was welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. Overall, it’s a charming spot with incredible views and a relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely return and recommend it for a scenic Newport stay!

4 stars for atmosphere due to the music coming through from the wedding taking place next to the restaurant. You could hear the music from the wedding and the restaurant simultaneously. That was not enjoyable. The service was fantastic! The beet salad, scallops, the tiny rice cakes and drinks were delicious. I will say that the clams in the pasta dish were super chewy- I could not chew it- I tried but EVERY CLAM was way too chewy. We took advantage of restaurants week to check the place out. Would enjoy returning in the summer maybe the clams might be less chewy.

Dined with 7 friends at dinner time on a Saturday. There was a wedding & reception happening on other side of the outdoor dining which was wonderful to be a part of. Service was average, food was great and the view is amazing. Parking was a little confusing and chaotic as there was only one valet who seemed very flustered and may not have spoken English very well.

What a view! Safari room by far has one of the coolest vibes you can have while eating a meal, it’s great to have an overlook of the water. Our waitress was great and offered some good options. Our food was okay, something’s didn’t go well together (like the sauce with the salmon but nothing was bad. Would definitely come by again for drinks and having a seat that looks at the water. Definitely stop by if you haven’t been here yet.

We had a great early dinner, with a gorgeous view. The apps were delicious and the atmosphere was serene and refreshing. Quite surprising that it was not that busy. Minor things: The dessert was not that impressive though; only the espresso gelato was the best thing about it. The drink said it contained mint, but I did not see it or tasted it. The server was over-checking on us, kind of creating a “rush” vibe, even though the restaurant was 3/4 empty. However, for the view, we would go back again.

We just had our wedding at Oceancliff. We stayed the weekend with family date multiple times at the Safari Room. The lunch was so good. Our guests loved it. Brunch on Sunday was so good. The French Toast, Avocado Toast and omelets were huge hits. We also had our After Party at the Safari Room and it was awesome. The service was overall was top notch! Can’t wait to go back!

We ate at the Safari Room this past fall. Every time we come for lunch or dinner it is always delicious. The food is really good. We have had burgers, steaks and pasta entrees. All were very tasty and came out nice and hot. We love the atmosphere of the out or inside bar. The staff is outstanding, Bobby the manager went out of his way to set up a whole new seating for us all after we met at the bar. We will definitely keep coming back. Thanks to the chefs.

I went with my husband the day after a snow storm because we didn’t want to drive and were staying at OceanCliff 1&2. My husband had the burger and I had the bolognese. The bolognese was delicious but my husband’s burger was a little overcooked, he did say the fries were perfect. They had a decent selection of wines and beer, but the best part was certainly dessert, I had a s’mores martini which was fantastic and my husband had the salted caramel bread pudding which was just as good. It was a great experience and we are happy we went!

The view is amazing! Smelled a little musty when we came in to the restaurant, could be the outdated carpeting. The menu is very simple (which is a plus for me, one is not bombarded with so many choices!) We ordered the tuna ceviche, burger and swordfish club. Food was more than very good and a good portion. I just wish they are dog-friendy, our pug would’ve loved it too! Will definitely come back here for the view!
