Very nice ladies that cook and serve you. I like the ginger drink they have cold. We are having goat curry stew and beef curry stew with fufu and rice with collard greens. Be prepared to wait for your meal. Lots a people order food to go from here.The goat is to die for and the meat pies are heavenly

I’ve been coming here for years. The food is amazing and authentic, and the staff are kind and personable. As some of the other reviews have mentioned, the food can take some time, especially on weekends and Friday evenings. Calling ahead with your order certainly helps if you are in a rush. But also, keep in mind that the food isn’t prepared ahead of time; it is cooked once you order, and so it can take time, and that’s just the reality of it. I don’t think that’s a bad thing; it can be nice to come with friends, enjoy each others’ company, and then enjoy a delicious meal afterwards. I have many great memories doing exactly that.

First time trying this and it taste good! The cabbage had a sweet butter smell and it’s great with fufu. Goat was also soft and juicy.
Service was super slow tho, we waited for 25 minutes to get our plates. The utensils were not clean but they changed it for us.

I love this place because of the food. Authentic East African cuisine with a rustic atmosphere, that is reminiscent of a laid back setting. The personnel is kind and respectful and listens. You might have to wait a bit for your food, and the best way is to make a call and order 30 mins while planning the trip. It is not a Michelin restaurant but it is sure just a genuine local, “ungentrified” spot. It is surrounded by gentrified neighborhood and hopefully this spot won’t be pushed out of business.

The food here is delicious, Seattle you’re lucky!! I‘ve moved to Miami but I went to Safari again on my last work trip in May, first found this place after an intense hike with a friend 10 yrs ago and the fried fish and goat is incredible. Yes there’s some time to cook it but good things come to those who wait. Was just thinking about Safari and realized I haven’t posted my review so doing that now, I highly recommend!

The owner is nice but her workers are very slow. I had to come back because I forgot to order the kachumbari, a Kenyan salsa, and it took a half an hour for them to give me. That is so ridiculous, it was already made, all they had to do was put in a container it seems like they were doing it on purpose, I don’t know why. Next time, I’m not tipping them anymore and I will raise hell, I know it doesn’t take that long. I would give 5 stars but the wait time is so long I took of 2 stars. Get it together.

Love this place. I was craving some Kenyan food and this place hit the spot. I dined in on a slow night with only 2 people working. The service was SUPERB! Our waitress was polite and made genuine conversation without hovering over us. The food was amazing, almost like home. My husband who is American said it was the best fish dish he ever had ( he ordered deep fried samaki). The only critique I have is that it took quite a bit of time to get the food. But given that it was a slow night with only 2 people working ( the chef and the waitress), I understood. The food was worth the wait.

We had the goat curry with basmati rice and kachumbari. The food played together very well. The rice was a beautiful gold. The goat came in a bowl and was of a soup texture and smelled wonderfully of spices. The salad also came in a bowl and tasted very fresh and crisp and spicy. Also on the side was some orange stuff that was very spicy, but since it was on the side, We could decide how much of the spicy dip to use. I used a lot until my face got sweaty. Would highly recommend and will definitely come back the next time we are in town.

I wanted to like this place, I really did. But it just didn’t work out. The food took extra long to come and when it did, its not that it was bad, it just wasn’t great either…..i’m disappointed, I really did want to like this place. But alas!
