My girlfriends and I came here for lunch and we were honestly obsessed from the second we walked in. Saddle River Café has that clean, modern, calming vibe.
The service was so friendly and attentive without hovering. Our server gave great recommendations and checked in just the right amount.
The food was the highlight — everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and plated beautifully. We tried a few different dishes and shared everything, and there wasn’t a single thing we didn’t love. The portions were perfect: filling without being heavy, and you can tell they use really good ingredients.
The coffee + drinks were also amazing. It’s one of those spots where you can sit, talk, and catch up for a while without feeling rushed.
The outdoor dining is all decked out for the holidays also!!

Excellent food and exceptional service. We have dined here numerous times during weekdays and weekends, the food and service has been very consistent – consistently great. We have brought many people here and the feedback is the same – this restaurant exceeded their expectations. FANTASTIC. The Asian steak noodle bowl was wonderful. It was cooked absolutely perfectly. Which is quite an accomplishment, because it’s a thin slice of skirt steak. Kudos to the staff in the kitchen! Noodles were perfect consistency.

Underrated and outstanding restaurant. Always excellent. Their Tuna Taco app is delicious. As are the crabcake and artichoke apps. The truffle Burger or the surf and turf burger great. Lastly, every server there is friendly, attentive and professional!

Great little cafe for a great meal. BYOB, so remember to bring your wine of choice. Enjoyed the crispy artichokes which were coated in a light batter with mustard cream sauce. The miso salmon was amazing! savory yet sweet with black wild rice cook to perfection and delicately placed asparagus l. The meatballs & spaghetti were delicious! Great service from Ashley! Next visit I will make sure to leave room for the bread pudding dessert!

I rarely ever leave reviews, but after multiple disappointing experiences with the service, I felt it was important to share. I’ve been to Saddle River Cafe several times, hoping things would improve, because the food is actually good. That’s what kept me coming back. But even good food can’t make up for consistently bad treatment. What really pushed me to finally write this review was the ongoing rudeness we have experienced from the manager, Julia. From the moment I walked in, she made me feel unwelcome. This wasn’t a one-time thing either it has happened on several occasions. Her tone is curt, her attitude comes off dismissive, and she acts as if customers are inconveniences rather than people supporting the business. It’s uncomfortable and honestly surprising for a place that presents itself as warm and community-oriented. I kept giving the cafe chances because the food is solid, but at this point the service has completely overshadowed everything else. When you’re spending good money, the least you expect is basic courtesy and I definitely didn’t receive that here. For a moment, I did think it was only my family that went like this but after talking it over with local families in the community who also come often they have also said the manager is rude and aggressive. I won’t be returning, and I hope management takes customer service seriously moving forward. On a good note, the waiters Ryan and Carlos have always done a great job.

We were entertained by the sushi hors d’oeuvres, the chef special braised short rib ragu with pasta was pretty good, it wasn’t amazing. I’m fine with the price, but the flourless cake chocolate thingy desert was just unfortunate. Everything was going so well until desert. You can bring your own wine, so maybe you should be able to bring your own dessert. Chocolate should always be room temperature. Especially when it resembles a hockey puck. Go Devils!

Just came here for the first time for breakfast. Atmosphere outside is beautiful. Service is outstanding as well. And to top it off, the food is even better. One of the better breakfast meals I have ever had. A great local hidden gem. Very fresh and flavorful. Perfect pear juice is to die for. Banana pancakes are delicious and the Saddle River breakfast sampler is so amazing. My only complaint, actually suggestion – the potatoes came with sauce on it and the menu did not say that. Other than that, will definitely keep coming back and spreading the word of this amazing restaurant. I will try dinner next here.

We had 7pm reservations and the place was packed. Our server was fantastic and our food came out in a timely fashion. The apps were incredible. We shared the crispy rice with tuna and the crab cake. I could have eaten a full trays worth of that crispy rice dish. The crab cake was divine. So much crab. So much flavor! For dinner I had the Asian noodles and my bf had the Steak frites. Steak was cooked perfectly. The noods are out of this world!!! The texture combo with the spicy peanut sauce!!! Our busser came by shocked we had finished everything so quickly lol!! Dessert was very good. The chocolate chip ice cream sandwich was very chocolatey and rich. My bf loved it. I had the creme brulee cheesecake. It was a wonderful last bite of the night. We will def be back!!!!
