Scared grounds coffee is a must stop in Edwardsville. They have many different brews including coffee and tea beverages. The menu is small but packed with amazingly tasty and filling dishes. The avocado toast is very good and the bagel sandwich is to die for.

Sacred Grounds is an adorable little coffee shop! It has a good vibe – games and books to occupy your time while waiting on your order.

WALK DON’T RUN!! Traveling from out of town and stopped in for brunch. I used to frequent Sacred when I lived in town. Let me tell you…The new brunch menu is to die for! My kiddos are obsessed with the perfectly giant and Fluffy choco-chip pancakes. We were greeted warmly and the coffee was just what we needed.

I convinced our weekly Saturday long run group to give Sacred Grounds a chance for our weekly post run lunch. After arriving, we were informed the lunch menu is no longer available along with no vegan options. Half our group, which are vegans, watched the other members pick at their breakfast for lunch. Extremely disappointed and hungry.

New place we tried out today with our friends. Very filling and good food and drinks. My boyfriend said his hot chocolate could’ve used more chocolate, but overall, great place to try out.

I used to love coming to this place but recently, there an always an issue with ordering. Whether it be forgetting what drink I ordered, forgetting to add bacon to my sandwich, always running out of food, or completely giving me the wrong order, there is always something going wrong. I would understand too if they were busy, but it occurs even on their down times. All the workers seem to be in a bad mood when the boss is around. Otherwise, the workers are very nice!

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE VEGAN!! Cashier assured me they could make vegan scrambled eggs using Just egg – a product I’ve had many times and am very familiar with. They served me real eggs! When I pointed out that they looked 100% identical to the non- vegan scrambled eggs they were serving other customers in both texture and color, and brought to their attention that it did not taste like Just Egg but tasted like real eggs – THE CHEF *LIED* TO ME AND INSISTED THAT IT WAS THE VEGAN EGGS! I trusted them, and ate the eggs, and now I’m experiencing the WORST UPSET TUMMY I’ve had in many years — eggs have always given me tummy issues. I even went onto a local vegan group and asked others to share their experiences at Sacred Grounds. One person shared a picture of the vegan scramble they had gotten there and it looked VERY VERY different from both what I was served and what their regular eggs look like. Another person said they’ve been served non-vegan items there multiple times when they’ve ordered vegan substitutes. VEGANS BEWARE AND STAY AWAY! AND IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES OR SENSITIVITIES TO DAIRY OR EGGS YOU’D BE WISE TO AVOID THIS PLACE!!

Sacred has always been a place that represents ‘home’ for me. Like many, I grew up there. I make it a priority to visit when I come into town every couple years, but I won’t be coming back. The care of ownership that once existed no longer does under the new management. Customer service is significantly lacking, the espresso tastes terrible, lattes were room temp, and basic details are overlooked. I literally threw my drink away because of how bad it was. Small thing, but the cups are the kind that belong in a break room or hospital cafeteria, not a local coffee shop. I’m saddened by what this place has become.
