This is such a lovely place to come for lunch or dinner. The patio in the warmer months is relaxing and unique. We love to come for their sandwiches and salads with the family. In the cooler months we really enjoy their dinners. It’s intimate and quiet. I love that I can hear my husband speak. The whole experience is just so cozy and enjoyable. We love the staff and owner. This is truly a hidden gem. Try the honey cake, it’s delightful! This place has become our favorite little lunch and dinner date getaway.

On a small road trip from Denver en route to The Broadmoor, we decided to skip the predictable chain coffee shops and seek out something with a bit more character. A quick search led us to Sacred Ground Café, quietly tucked into Cheyenne Canyon yet conveniently located just off Cheyenne Boulevard. It felt like a hidden gem—secluded enough to feel special, but easy enough to find without effort.

As we pulled up, we immediately noticed the charm of the historic building, proudly bearing the year 1907 on its façade. You can’t help but wonder about the stories those walls could tell. The parking situation is a bit tight, with limited spaces directly in front of the café, but manageable if you arrive at a quieter hour. Just outside, there’s an adorable covered patio complete with a bar area—clearly a lovely setting for warmer months or an afternoon gathering.

Since it was early morning in February, we opted for the warmth of the indoors. Stepping inside, I was greeted by original wood floors and eclectic European-inspired décor that exuded cozy, unmistakable hygge vibes. The atmosphere felt intimate yet relaxed, with seating for roughly 30 guests. At that hour, only one other couple lingered in the dining room, adding to the calm, unhurried feel.

We approached the counter and were instantly tempted by an array of pastries and house-made treats. Though there was a full breakfast menu available, time wasn’t on our side, so we chose to share a muffin and ordered two lattes. The barista was warm and efficient, taking our order with ease and delivering the coffees directly to our table once ready.

As we savored our lattes and muffin, a local family arrived for breakfast, greeting the staff in a way that suggested this was a regular ritual. It quickly became clear that Sacred Ground isn’t just a café—it’s a gathering place. From the posted events and menu offerings, it appears the space comes alive in the afternoons and evenings as well, offering more than just coffee to the community.

Given its inviting atmosphere, thoughtful menu, and picturesque location, it’s easy to see why this café has become a beloved neighborhood staple. I would wholeheartedly recommend that anyone passing through take a moment to pause at Sacred Ground Café. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down—and one I’ll certainly return to the next time I’m in the area.

Such a gem in Cheyenne Canyon!

You order at the counter, find a cozy table, and they bring your food right to you — always friendly and relaxed. The adult smoothies are a favorite.
They also host amazing themed dinners: Italian, French, Mediterranean, Georgian Supras. Set price for four courses.

Perfect spot near the Broadmoor for great food, canyon views, and something a little different.

Came here for Sunday brunch and was not disappointed! It’s been four years since I visited this place and was happy to see a special menu for brunch that included salmon as an option. I have the eggs, Ben dip and my daughter, the avocado toast and they were delicious. The eggs Benedict was not greasy at all, perfectly cooked and thoroughly enjoyed the views of this rustic city.

This place is adorable. My husband got the bread pudding which was outstanding. I got the pumpkin latte and it was delicious. The staff were super friendly and awesome as well. You should go here if you are in Colorado Springs!

My wife and I have been going to Sacred Grounds for dinner on Friday or Saturday nights almost every week for several months. Their food quality is always excellent and the service is also excellent. Quiet, peaceful atmosphere in early evening, much more pleasant than the higher rent places that are all way too noisy. We have enjoyed all of the food that we have had there and we like the fact that they offer some interesting variants both on the menu and as specials. Pricing is very reasonable.

This place ia real gem, strongly reccomended.

Solid venue for some simple cafe goods right by a bunch of great hikes. If you are going to be going into the Cheyenne Park area, this is a great spot to stop by and grab some food.

Essentially, the food was great, but I think the prices were too much. The max and cheese with chicken was fresh and great, but it cost $19. The salad was also excellent, but without protein I believe it was $14+? Just too much imo.

Baked goods looked awesome, but I didn’t try any. Would recommend getting some sweets!

But all good was great, if you don’t care about price, try this out!

A delightful find in the North Cheyenne Canyon area! This hidden gem has wonderful European charm and great coffee! The ham, egg, and cheese croissant was delicious and the cappuccino perfect. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a more home-style cafe experience!

Cozy little local cafe tucked into Cheyenne canyon. Great selection of skratch made soups, salads, sandwiches, quiche and baked goods to choose from. Daily specials (they had an awesome peach gazpacho the day I was there) to keep it fresh. They also do special event dinners from time to time. A variety of tables inside as well as several patio areas of various sizes in front, on the side and a large one in the back. A great place to grab a bite and catchup with friends.

The sandwich had at this establishment cost $15, and you could buy deli fresh ingredients better than the quality had here. The bread was dry. The turkey was from a processed container, soggy, and no flavor. Over all the food wasn’t enjoyable; atmosphere is okay but there are LOTS of more scenic, beautiful areas in Colorado with better food to be had for equal price than here.
