I’m Mexican as hell. I grew up eating lengua, so I don’t take this lightly.
I’ve been here before and trusted the place because of good ratings and past visits. Today I ordered a burrito de lengua and watched the lady pull out what looked like a frozen block of lengua, heat it up, and then microwave it, all while on the phone the entire time. It was almost 2pm and I was starving, so I figured it would be fine since everything else looked fresh.
Unfortunately, when I took a bite, the lengua was still frozen inside. I was honestly shocked. I let her know right away and she did remake it with carne asada, which tasted good, but the experience was already ruined.
Serving frozen meat like that shouldn’t happen. I won’t be coming back.

Now this is carnitas! So many places have dry carnitas but my carnitas tacos were tender and delicious. Generous burrito portion. I was able to pay with card.

Oh, you want authentic? Yeah, this place is it! Tia (aunt) makes all the food from scratch the RIGHT way. Nothing is rushed. The meat is so crazy tender it will make you sad when you get home and realize your can’t do it the same way. The Birria is perfect. The carnitas are so juicy! Everything about this little spot is perfect. Try the horchata – it’s just the right thickness to sweetness ratio!

Great little hidden gem in Oceanside for about as authentic as you can get Mexican food.
Lady behind the counter who took my order was extremely nice and took the time to ensure I got what I wanted.
Had the Lengua Burrito and a Carnitas Mulita. Lengua Burrito had Rice and Beans in it and was huge and had great flavor. Carnitas Mulita was your standard Mulita, solid but the Carnitas was a tad dry and could have used a tad more flavor. Possibly from sitting on the hot bar for a while. Green sauce was good, needed more though. But let me be clear, I’m being critical as the food is leaps and bounds over other joints in Oceanside.
Got my food to go. If I were eating there, I would have gotten the Daily Special which was a seafood soup. There were multiple locals in there chowing down so it had to be good.
The restaurant is combined with a Tienda and is clean.
Highly recommend!

You have to know where to look to find this place. You need to understandthe the culture a little bit aswell and you will feel at home. The food is about as authentic as you’ll find on this side of the boarder. This is my ” go to” place when ever I’m in the area… (like once a month) today I had the chivo with rice and beans. It was really juicy and good I enjoyed a cold , refreshing cup of watermelon juice too . my son got the torta de asda and he loved it as well. We look forward to coming back.

I AM PICKY, I know flavor. EVERYTHING WE HAD WAS so delicious. Asada torta was a 10, tamale a 10, menudo was the the no harmony style and flavor was a 10. Shrimp burrito, asada taco, queso burritos tacos were items my family got and they very much enjoyed them. It’s a little hole in the wall restaurant and family does the best they can as far as service but the little wait is worth everything.

The food is excellent Mexican made by a little Mexican family. It comes with authentic salsas that add some excellent kick.
The restaurant is in a neighborhood market with Mexican goods. It’s beat up but I’m not there for the ambiance. I go for real Mexican food and they have it in spades.
