We really enjoyed the food. We called an order in, because a lot of reviews mentioned long wait times. They said it would be 20 minutes, and it was ready in 15 minutes. Very reasonable.

We ordered the pupasas, the pastelitos, and fried plantains. The plantains were served with refried black beans, and queso fresco with Oaxaca cheese. Everything was really good. I’d never tried pastelitos, which are kind of like empanadas. I usually add salt to my plantains, but the refried black beans had a little salt to spare, so I dipped my plantains right in there.

Since we ordered a la cart, it was about $26, which isn’t bad for dinner for 2. We will be back.

Pros: Food tasted good and seemed fresh. Food is made to order. Cashier/waitress was nice. Prices are reasonable, and there’s a good amount of food that comes out. Pupusas, chicharron with yuca and salad were great, compared to other Central American food I’ve had in California. Good choice of bottled beverages including tropical fruit juices.
Cons: Doesn’t seem to follow health codes, boxes of food stored in the middle of the floor. Tables aren’t wiped down, just overall dirty even though it smells like bleach. Only bottled beverages, so no water cups offered or refills. Because food is made to order, it takes half an hour before it gets to your table. Conclusion: Come here if you don’t mind messy relative vibes with gambling slot machines, or get takeout to have some good Central American food.

Amazing small Hispanic restaurant/store around Knoxville. Staff were friendly and helpful. The place wasn’t busy, but they were stocked. Ordered a couple pupusa and a burritas hondureñas along with some snacks. The foods were tasty and delicious. I would definitely stop back once I’m around Knoxville.

First time here- really good Pupusas – definitely a Central American vibe to the place, which I love. The staff are really nice as well. Keep in mind the food is cooked to order, so dont expect it super-quick as someone else commented. Definitely recommend.

My husband has eaten here before, the last time was a year ago. He was really excited to get papusas again. Unfortunately, it’s nine dollars for three and the size has gotten a lot smaller than it used to be. The slaw that comes with it was not good either. It’s supposed to be pickled and it didn’t taste anything like that! He said there was barely any flavor. He said the cheese looked different as well. So we won’t be coming back.

This independent restaurant serving authentic South American food is worth the visit! Fair pricing and healthy portion. Much to choose from the menu and friendly service. Clean and just expanded recently a game room and small market selling goods.
