This place is TERRIFIC!!!! I’ve gone here multiple timers and the food and service is SOO good! I recommend the empanadas since it’s the best thing on the menu. The atmosphere is great too!!

This is my second time eating at Sabor and I don’t know I didn’t want to be but I was pretty let down. With the food specifically. I was at a store starving and realized there was no Chipotle near me so I checked up on Qdoba but there wasn’t one of those, Remembering my So so experience Previously at sabor Indian Trail I figured I’d give it another try I got the burrito Especial With steak And The works. The guy in the phone mentioned they just changed the steak recipe so he didn’t know if it was spicy or not. My problem was not with the spice It was just the flavor and texture of the steak From the very first bite I wasn’t I was not feeling it. Pretty big let down but I was happy the guy threw in some free chips so I walked over to the salsa bar and snagged a couple of to go sauces and ate a couple chips. I guess I was disappointed enough After my second bite that I decided to get something else because I still starving So I added to my to go order An empanada Which look delicious and growing up in New York Well that’s just a staple. I had asked the manager guy before I ordered it what was the sauces and stuff cheeses things like that I saw on the Google Images and I didn’t take him seriously when he said the reddish orange sauce that they had it’s just ketchup and mayo. I wanted to try the empanada It was ground beef and supposedly there’s some cheese in there but man it was super dried out. That wasn’t the worst part though I my mouth was so dry I had to dip in the sauce so I took a big dip and it was exactly as he said it tasted like someone just makes Mayo with ketchup kind of like when I was a kid. I’m not a big complainer I try not to mess with small business I don’t want to see them fail any small business but just a disappointing time. I won’t be ordering from sabor From any location From now on. I was looking at their stuff while I was waiting for my second order and there motto is something like tradition authentic and having been to Mexico so many times and in so many different places I couldn’t attach any recollection of true traditional Mexican food here this was more like the teens wanted to get out of work which was in about 45 minutes from when I stopped in. Yeah so late teens Couple Early 20 some things Kind of just threw it together And I feel like I got Like One tenth of Chipotle treatment And Just not good tasting food I don’t know how to describe it any better. To the owners or management I’m sorry I hate to do this but this is how it went I’m a reasonable guy I eat regular stuff I love Mexican and this just tasted like I don’t know somebody made it in my kitchen really fast and whipped it together. We went to Sabor in Indian Trail today.
Wanted to get a quick bite to eat, indian trail Honda was working on my car down the road. We haven’t had Spanish food in a while.
Wow! I have to say the nachos, empanadas, smothered fries (my NJ vernacular) truly excellent! Quite honestly we did the fries, darn I should’ve taken a picture of the menu, with the steak. It was the top left of the menu. In any case excellent excellent excellent and I would definitely get it again. I’m not a fan of french fries as everybody knows quite well, lol! But the combination of ingredients and flavors in this dish? Great Latin comfort food!
The Bowl was OK. NOT bad by any means, I appreciated each one of the dishes, on their own – steak and chicken – the ingredients were fresh but I like the other mix of ingredients better.
FYI I would still get a bowl but when I wanted a rice/comfort component. The bowl was a little plain when compared to the combination of ingredients in the other dishes. Again, NOT bad. Just personal preference.
Not to take away from the freshness or the portions – because as you can see by the pictures – the portions are definitely generous!!

I looked around and thought – wow it’s kind of quiet. Then, the lunch rush came in!
We highly recommend this location for the portions, the quality of the ingredients, best of all? What an amazing staff.
Just extremely professional, gracious, really honest about their recommendations when you ask what they preferred.
Not sure if anybody’s gone to this Sabor, and I can’t speak to any other location, but….we will absolutely be back to this one.

The last thing I’ll say, I would absolutely get the empanadas again. I think our favorite was the chorizo empanada and I loved the steak chunks in the fries.
I would love to know what Mexican restaurants the group recommends and why, we’re always looking for a good treat. This was a quick easy lunch and it was absolutely worth it but open to hearing what other recommendations the group has.

I usually love Sabor but this location was a serious disappointment. I ordered take out and when I opened it at home about 10 min later the container was filled just enough to cover the very bottom the food was very soggy and the meat really over cooked. I’ve never had such a bad experience before and I frequently eat at and order take out from other Sabor locations.

Taco Tuesday is a great deal and i appreciate they still offer it, but the taco’s have no flavor anymore. The taco’s were small and lacking seasoning on the 4 different kinds i tried. I’ve been to this place several times over the years and the flavor is just gone now. Service was great and the fresh limes were great. Even the salsa bar has lost so much flavor and most of them are very bland. Luckily i always have hot sauce on hand for these situations. Hope they can improve this!
