I really like the food at Sabine’s. The food has been impressive and delicious each time, from their flavorful Legume with white rice and Sòs Pwa Blan. To their Griot Complet, which offers tender, juicy pork with big crispy chunks and perfectly seasoned rice and peas to the Macaroni au Gratin, (served only on Sundays). Plus, the service at Sabine’s is excellent, the staff is polite and attentive, going above and beyond.

This is a small establishment of Atlantic Ave. on the south side of the street. I like the food is there to be viewed and doesn’t require much of a wait. I tried multiple dishes. I would recommend the legume, mais, MACARONI, and the griot with rice and beans. I thought the prices were a bit high. **Maybe a lunch special.
I would visit again.

Wow. The food is amazing. Look at my plate to see what I ate with the company of my friends. Delicious food. I would eat again.

I want to share my experience at this Haitian restaurant because I feel it’s important for people to know what’s really going on. This is actually my second time here, and both times I felt like I was being overcharged just because I’m not Haitian. Most recently, they tried to charge me $16 for a griot simp (small plate), which is just pork and plantains—way overpriced for what you get that’s the the price of a griot complete (large).

When I asked why the price was so high, the lady just said, “That’s the price.” I’m tired of these places pretending to be all about the culture and “for the people,” but then turning around and taking advantage of Black Americans who may not speak the language or know the real prices. It feels like they treat us differently and think we won’t notice.

This is the second time they’ve done this to me, so I’ve decided it’s my last visit. I hope this review helps others be aware and pushes this restaurant to do better and treat everyone fairly—regardless of where you’re from or what language you speak.

Very authentic food. A few basic improvements would be labeling the items in the rustic presentation.
